Thanks, Blair, for the tip! The SS Model is a piece of cake for me, and the DX was much more forgiving with the Proguard blade. That’s certainly not the case with the Feather Super. My AC safety razors are a breeze for me with the Super. I’ll try your angle suggestion tomorrow morning. I’ve also had a fair bit of success holding my straights by the spine itself for some of the tricker parts of my beard growth below the jawline. I’ll be trying both approaches tomorrow. Thanks again!

It seems you made the right adjustment to get a better result. Bravo Jim!

Lol! Thanks Jeff! Believe it or not it is more difficult to go with the grain because the large width makes it harder to scoop under the nose. The barber's notch makes it easier to do a fool's pass because it is easier to stabilize the blade.

I agree with you, Charlie. I find some of PAA's labels quite objectionable.

Wonderful shave Clint. I hope your "bored" meeting is short so you can do the things you want to enjoy with your time.

Very nice shave Gary! I find that Stirling can take on plenty of water before it becomes runny. Personally, Stirling soaps are easy to lather. Enjoy your day!

Congrats on the nice results, Paul. In addition to increasing your brush loading time, did you also spend more time lathering your face? I forget if you bowl or face lather.

He does seem like a nice chap. :happy088:
I watched his videos early on when this became a hobby and he influenced my shave routine when I started trying to improve. Those ~3.5 passes with numerous touch-ups didn't help me in the end...and it took a while to realize it wasn't for me. Maybe if I only shaved twice a week like him it would be ok, but my skin didn't tolerate it that well and I prefer daily shaves.

Good afternoon guys! My FedEx package arrived at 12:30. I should have waited to try out the new soap and aftershave, but I needed to shave this morning before I went to the gym.
Anyway, I needed a headshave so why not use my new stuff.

    Schick E3 Razor
    Schick Injector Blade (3)
    Barbury Synthetic Brush
Gentleman's Nod Zaharoff Signature SS and AS

I was kind of disappointed with the scent strength because the reviews stated that it was strong off the puck, but I didn't find it so. In all fairness, my sinuses are congested so I am sure that is the reason why I couldn't get the full experience. As I was loading, I was able to get a better whiff of the fragrance and it is a clean and masculine scent. It is something that you can't compare to any other scent because it is very complex. I am not a scent expert, but I get a fougere and some green notes. It will not offend anyone and you can where it for any occasion or anytime throughout the year. It is a creamy lather, so if you are looking for a fluffy lather, then this soap is not for you. There is residual slickness to buff your trouble areas. I got a BBS headshave so I am satisfied with the performance. Realistically, you're paying for the unique scent of this soap. Again, the performance is good, but is it better than Stirling soap? It is better in scent, but not in slickness. Again, this is a good soap. Hopefully, my sinuses will be clear so that I can get a better experience. Anyway, splashed on the aftershave and the scent doesn't exactly match, but it does compliment the soap well. I am pleased with the soap and aftershave, but I will use it and get a clearer idea about this scent when I use it after my 7 shave challenge. Have a wonderful afternoon guys! 20200912_131448.jpg

Ah, so it not so unusual to use both hands to stabilize a blade. I saw Jared of Superior Shave doing that with ATG passes on the front of his neck. So I've used it successfully with my straights below the jawline. However, the Feather DX is very "hard sharp" as you would say and quite unforgiving. So I'm taking things very slowly. Hopefully, by the end of this week I'll have a better handle on using the DX with a Feather Super.

Splendid report, Joseph! Nothing like a much needed shave to put you in a good mood. Adding a new product that performed well is just icing on the cake. :happy088:

Pass anything but Tabac or the Veg, and I'm happy.

Excellent shave lineup and beautiful picture, Jim! Do you think pushing the razor stretched the skin a bit?
