Well that would explain all the hair balls in the ADSL.

had an unexpected faculty meeting this morning. I was running late and hadn't made my coffee yet, so I ended up running the Aeropress after the faculty meeting. Wow... I have lost track of how many staff members want to know more about the AP now.

So we've been having some phone line trouble lately, got the phone guy to come out and take at look at things... just as I suspected, the problem was in the field, not in my house... I think they got it fixed! But, that's not the point of this account.

In talking with phone tech, I asked him if they'd ever get dsl out to my neck of the woods.

"Oh, we can do that now."

So, I placed a call to the phone company, sure enough, I can get high speed for about 30.00 a month! Only 768k/768k but it beats the ever lovin' crap out of dial-up, so I think we'll be getting high speed at home soon! happy108:happy108

 

Kewl.... much better (and cheaper) than my blazing fast 128k DSL that peaks at about 72 at the off peak times and at peak hours... I am thinking about upgrading back to a 56K modem.

There is a fiber optic line about 1/8 mile from my home... but we keep being told that we can't get FIOS service in our area.
