Good evening, gents!

I'm way, way behind in this thread. The likelihood of getting caught up is slim to none. Lots going on here, which keeps me from posting and/or reading - but, I still shave daily. So far, I've been keeping with the SEptember theme and have only used SE razors so far this month. My "main" focus of Sample September has been derailed though. Just a few days ago, I received two A&E soaps as well as the B&M Cologne Russe, which is featured in today's shave. Yesterday was a travel shave, as we were out of town for a memorial service. I completely forgot to pack a soap, but did have a small container of Barbasol in my travel kit. That's what I ended up using, along with the Supply, and gotta say that it works perfectly fine.

Along with the soaps that arrived, the Simpson T3 synthetic also was tucked into the box. A number of you guys have been showing them in your posts for awhile, and Clint also gave it a thumbs-up recommendation. It's a darn good brush, for a darn good price. The knot is every bit as good, if not slightly better than the SynBad.

Today's shave was pure delight. The B&M Excelsior base is beyond thirsty. It took quite a few additions of water to get it dialed in, but once it was there - oh my. The same can be said for the A&E Kaizen soap base. Both are top-tier performers in all aspects. The Supply with a Proline loaded glides effortlessly across the face. It's going to be difficult to go back to working through soap samples after trying these. There's one more soap that hasn't been used yet - the A&E Asian Plum - and after that, I'll try to get back to the sample focus. We'll see....

Many folks experience the ability to improve safety razor shaves 'after' learning to shave open edge.

It makes straight razor shaving a path to learning good DE shaving.

Many folks who excel in DE shaves 'never' see the need to take up straights. I wasn't getting what I wanted DE.

Your excellence in DE shaving gave you the ability to do shavette head shaves in 2 weeks. I'm still working on my DE shaves.

Your disagreement is probably skewed by your more advanced skill level.
