Another good shave, maybe the best of the set, so far.

Astra blade - seemed like #2 was the best. I sense I could go to 4 or 5 easily but won't. My council to someone practicing a focus or rule is to replace the steel frequently. I'll heed my own advice and start a fresh blade next shave.

Working on finishing the Glacial Black Cherry Soap. I liked the non-menthol better. This reminds me of a Vicks cough drop.

My Stirling order showed up. It was supposed to be Friday, then changed to Monday, but delivered Sunday. I can hear the story now..... gee boss it didn't get on the truck, but you know, I'll be glad to run it all the way down there to the southern side of the county on Sunday......... for double time. Anyhow a pleasant surprise.

    Normal 3-1/2 pass routine.

The unwelcomed ingrown visitors subsided after skipping ATG in that area yesterday. I risked it today, especially with a wearing blade, but why not push things in a challenge.

Finished up with the new Intrepid Man. I find it reminded me of Stirling Blue in the beginning, but evolved quickly to the spicy oriental part.

Description: This deep, spicy, oriental scent has a rich upfront blend of Indian sandalwood, cinnamon, coriander, and juniper berry. In the middle, it has lavender, orange, rosemary, and ginger and it's rounded out by tonka bean and vanilla.

Along with my order was the Stirling 'Aggressive' DE head I planned for this focus. It will be up next.

Visually different from a DE89 as follows: higher thicker cap, wider distance between clamping rails, deeper scalloping that rolls the edge, and a narrower base plate. It appears to be a shaver to get 'on the blade edge' more easily...... just what I was after.

    Face was good. No regrets.

When it comes to the volume of soap to use, yes.

If I gotta skimp on shaving soap use, I'm not shaving.

Interesting experiment today, Andrew. Most likely, more of us tend to overshave than we care to admit.

Thank you Paul. I had things to do around the house but I had the willpower to put them off until next weekend. So I did manage to relax.

Wonderful setup, Charlie! What is that finely toothed Kent thing in the lower right hand side of your photo, and what is it used for? ;)

This one is quite mild as these things go.
    Recessed blade.
    Corner guards.
    Tight blade hold.

Heavier than some but nowhere near the Feather DX 316 Stainless.

    I've drawn blood equally.

It is a long handle, and deceptively lightweight. I'm guessing that the Schick Injector II is a twin blade? Ever try the Revere with a Schick Proline?

Lovely shave, Bill! I think you'll be stocked up nicely with Stirling for a while. Great job! Sounds like you're really getting a handle on things.

Schick Prolines were my regular injector blade until I tried these double blades. I suspect I'll be returning to them, but I do like the thickness and stiffness of the double blades. They provide a nice close shave.

I'm really liking my AC SS and DX barber's razors. I really don't need any more. I've just begun to get these under control. The irony is I feel much more comfortable with a straight razor than I do with a shavette.

Thanks Andrew. I picked up a few of these combs on Amazon a couple of years ago. They're well made, and the tips of the teeth are smooth. I carry one in my back pocket and occasionally need to replace it when it breaks. PM me your address, and I'll send you one.

The brush scuttle was made by a gentleman named Robert Becker. It is just the right size for my needs, and it doesn't take up a lot of space on my sink top. It's signed and dated, so know that I've had it for seven years. I use it to soak my natural hair brushes prior to the shave, and then I use it to keep my lather warm. I have the matching lather scuttle if I ever decide to bowl lather. If not, it would be good for my cornflakes.

Happy Belated Birthday, Joe. I'm happy that you were able to commemorate the day with such a nice razor. Enjoy it for many years in the best of health.

Understood, Jeff. Safety is definitely the top priority, and you've obviously given it a lot of thought. I will follow your very successful shavette and straight razor exploits with interest.
