Very, very nice shave Gary! It's always good to have a variety of razors.

Lovely shave, Blair, and awesome photo staging! That straight looks incredible. I checked out my Riga and there are a few shiny spots on the edge. So I guess I'll touch things up on the jasper stone and then the pasted strop and regular strop. To think I thought I had no interest in honing when I started this journey. It's a real joy to create a smooth-shaving edge or to touch up one. Many folks have said that the Tungsten Steel in the Riga razors hold an edge for a very long time. I guess that means that the touch up process will take longer. I have my Ben's spare USB microscope to check out the edge I arrive at. I'm just chafing at the bit. I've decided that I'm only doing six days on this focus. I really want to shave with my new Riga. Hope you have an excellent day!

Lovely shave, and congratulations on the BBS. There is that about not switching up, Evan, unless you're a dufus like me who spent half a century shaving with the same Schick Krona DE. I love changing things up every day. This focus is definitely challenging. I've already shortened it by one day. Just have to shave with my new Riga razor.

    Thanks so much Jeff!

Quick note....might want to look at the spine to see if it shows honing marks, or if it was originally honed with tape. Otherwise, it could be a longer honing session if you don't match how the bevel was set 'last'. I have only stropped my Rigarazor example. It appears to have been honed with tape, but I've not looked at it with magnification.

Sergej's Rigarazor looks and shaves like several razors I'm familiar with. Really hardened steel, like the Japanese examples, but also J3Customs examples. You can see the way the Rigarazor's blade grain lays in my image today. This is common across these hardened steels. I'm no forger or smith, just noting what I see.

Thank you Joe...well, it's in there. There's also a light smell of CLOVES. Yeow. But it's well-blended in with all else.
