Hey Bill (@Edison Carter) would buying and using an R21 allow me to lop off a day? Could you put it before the committee?

So on my RR BBS, Tabac, Voskhod week that I've turned into comparison shaves vs my perfecrt RR BBS, GSB, Lucky tiger shaves:
RR BBS, Voskhod and subbing back in Lucky Tiger. So again better than original BBS, Tabac, Voskhod. So far subbing back in the GSB one day and the shave soap the next each was better. All three of my original formula seems to be the ideal in this limited sample size.
Tonight I'll try the original formula and see. Then back to planned setup to see what I could do better with it.

    It's not shaving, it's R&D.

My favourite EDC pocket knives are Bokers. Their customer service is excellent, albeit slow, if ever needed BTW.

I likey. Grill down low, warm up on the top. Allows for all sorts of combinations. Next week is a double pizza bake......

They do have a website. Nice folks, extremely cool store front. The owner is the one in the videos. They are very helpful!

Once I was in the store, I changed the default website setup a little to accommodate what I was looking for. I played around with it in an XL egg like ours, to see how it'd work with things we cook (not necessarily tons of ribs or briskets).

The setup ended up being an XL Woo Ring w/handles and two 18" half ceramic stones, Adjustable rig with bars, 20" top stainless round grill. I did not get the 16x20 oval stainless grill (would never use). Very high quality stainless, matches the quality stainless grill that comes with the egg. The coolest thing about the Woo Ring is that it is going to allow us to use a 18" cast iron stir fry pot/pan. We found out the hard way it's too big for our gas stove to get hot enough. The Woo Ring handles also allow you to move the entire setup at once, instead of pieces.

Was definitely spendy because we have the XL BGE....but we'll use it forever, we're very impressed with it's quality, and it's completely changed our mind for an offset smoker. Smaller sizes aren't nearly as much of an eye opener.

I'm "guilty" of that as well. If the soap has decent residual slickness, you *can* get away with it. Should you? That depends on the individual. If you're left with irritation after the shave, it's best to stop that practice and see if it helps. In most cases, I could easily do an entire shave only lathering once and using just residual slickness. Since there's always enough lather in the brush for numerous shaves, I do re-lather. When I use Cremo shaving cream (on the days where I'm in a hurry) I only use one application of the cream, then just splash a little water on (and rub it around to mix with the leftover cream) to add some slickness before doing another pass. My team of attorneys state that I should neither condone, nor recommend such practices. ;)

The BGE does last forever. I bought my Large 26 years ago for under $400. Some parts have had to be replaced but it is still going strong.

With a cart I can get away with using only water to shave. I might be able to do the same with a OneBlade.

SOTD WEDNESDAY MORNING, SEPTEMBER 16, 2020

This morning was one of those revelatory shaves on day 5 of the TSD G7DC where everything just came together on this beautiful morning in the Philly burbs! I’m talking about my mug shave. It may have had something to do with the alignment of the stars. Or perhaps a serendipitous concentration of ingredients gathered at the very bottom of this tub of Nancy Boy shave cream coupled with a lessening of my usual tremors. This three pass (WTG, ATG, XTG) mug shave was divine. I make formal obeisance to the shave gods! The shave is without doubt the closest face shave I’ve ever experienced in my 7 decades of walking the planet! That includes every safety razor and straight razor shave to date. Here at TSD we say “technique trumps tools”. Those whiskers never stood a chance! I still keep feeling my face an hour or two after the shave. If there’s a level beyond VBBS that’s what I achieved with today’s face shave! It was so good, I decided to forego the dome shave! My face and neck feel amazingly smooth!

    RAZOR: Feather DX Wood Handle
    BLADE: Feather Proguard
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by Argan Oil
BRUSH: MrEE Knurled Aluminum Handle Hybrid Knot
    CREAM: Nancy Boy Signature
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Humphreys Lilac WH and Osage Rub. Finished with Pre de Provence Bergamot & Thyme Balm.

    WCS/Zingari Man SS/ASB/RS - The Soloist
HC Ever Ready 3-Step - 26mm Envy Shave 2 band badger
    Rigarazor 8/8

Crazy busy....didn't get to post yesterday's shave. I witnessed the Edmund Fitzgerald'ing of PAA's CK-6 Doppelgänger Black shave soap that I hoped would last 7 days for G7DC. Oh well. Empty container, waiting for a grating session of Haslinger ;).

Today's shave....getting very comfortable with the Envy Shave badger, awesome bowl/face lather from a new setup. Zingari Man/West Coast Shaving's 'The Soloist'. This fragrance is divine. Pink Pepper, Rum, Tobacco. It's one I've been opening the container since it's arrival a few days ago just to smell. ZM's soap has the performance to match. Wow. Slick, creamy. In the container, a slight bit stiffer than PAA or Stirling or A&E. Shaving....worked through the process that @Edison Carter & @jtspartan talked about and not re-mowing an area that doesn't have soap (no buffing). Slightly overlapping strokes, super light touch (so the behemoth blade doesn't remove soap where it's not actually shaving). Very very nice results, 2.5 true passes. BBS-, no weepers or crimson at all. Followed with a squirt of ZM after shave balm, finished with the matching recovery splash (no alcohol). Wifey approved, and I'm still catching whiffs a couple hours after the shave.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday!

Tax Season this year seems to have gone on for freaking ever. Yesterday was the deadline for all pass thru companies and such to file. This was the worst deadline day we have had in over a decade. I am just glad that part is over. Now we only have the 10-15-20 deadline looming. I have stayed with the 7 day plan of using the OneBlade and RMBC Sandalwood cream. This lineup has been perfectly idiot proof which helped me a lot. Consistent automatic drama free BBS shaves are the norm with the OneBlade. Happy Hump Day Everyone.

Wow! My youngest son shaves in the shower with a Harry’s Cartridge razor with just water. He has no interest in traditional wet shaving like his two older brothers and father. I would think you’d need a pretty steady stream of water to pull it off. I’ll have to ask my middle son, Sam, who is a OneBlade fan, if he uses any shave cream? He’s been strongly hinting that given his bout with Covid, that a stainless steel Genesis would be a great Christmas present. I myself donkt see the connection, but who knows? He’s a fine young man! Takes after his mother! ;)
