Very cool watch, Jason! Your bride has good taste. Props to her, and congrats.
To clarify, your bride has some good taste. Since she doesn't care for Stirling Gentleman her taste is somewhat questionable. ;)

Jocke is the @Bama Samurai of the watch forums. He has an incredible watch collection and takes @b1hart quality photos. :) (I use one of his photos as my avatar with his permission.) Many owners are concerned about scratching their fancy timepieces, so Jocke wears one of his as a beater to demonstrate its durability. I believe he is a mechanic and owns a shop, so it sees some rough service. In fact, I think he goes out of his way to torture it. Each year, it gets a spa treatment: http://www.watchwallpapers.com/beaterren.htm

Here's his watch collection: https://galleri.watchwallpapers.com/#collections (OK, pick up your socks. I know they just got knocked off.)

He makes an annual trip to Baselworld where all the new watches are released. He documents those trips too. He will occasionally hot rod one of his Rolexes by changing hands, dials, etc. Very cool.

He appears to like watches. :)

Very cool, Jason! It's a real eye-catcher and a very nice gift. I don't think I have ever seen a wooden watch in the wild.

The main thing is to keep your work watch would fully at all times and launder it frequently.

I'm just having some fun with you, Jeff. I know you're really close to your sons, and it is cool that you all share so many common interests. I'll be 59 next week. No do's here. We're gonna lay low.

    (Nods head slowly in agreement)
It is very light on the wrist and actually has a very solid feel. You’d think it would have an inherent feeling of fragility given the lightness and the ‘pins thru wood’ band, but it seems to be very well made and durable.

was at my local "BigLots" last night, found a small stash of European old spice specifically the UK bottles that are the glass bottled ones. They aren't produced and sold here in the US that I know of. I was puzzled thinking "what are they doing here in the states." they had them selling pretty cheap (like 5 bucks a bottle), so I scooped up a few bottles.

I thought there was something wrong with the G8 when I first shaved with it, given the amount of blade feel/harshness. Then I saw a video Fuzzy did with his G8. He mentioned that some G8's are mild, like the rest of the G series. But there are some that have a lot of blade feel. He mentioned that his G8 is very similar to his E2. Evidently, what I ended up with is the "beastly" G8. I'm going to try a Schick Proline in it sometime, just out of curiosity. It sounds contradictory, I know. However, the last two shaves with it seemed, not only harsh, but almost like the blade was chopping, rather than slicing. It's especially noticeable going ATG up the middle of my neck. That always proves to be the most difficult stubble to remove, along with the area around my Adam's Apple. The G8 felt very "grabby" - even more so than with other razors. If the Proline doesn't help smooth it out a bit, the razor will probably find a new home.

Day 4 of the mini focus. The Hawk is delivering very nice 2 pass shaves. Not better than some for 3 passes, but better than most all after 2, if that makes sense. The Florida Water is a nice pairing for the soap, and is a SWMBO fave.
    Have a great day all!
