Another great picture. Question though. If it's a 1949 Schick were does the "66" come from. I had assumed it was the year of manufacturing.
Route 66. Goes with the cars in the photos. Was the old road that connected the East to the West in the USA. Could be wrong, but the only thing that made sense to me.
thank you sir..the "66" comes from the razor set being "66" cents..,and they had blue handles..the schick cheapy set with the chrome finish..
all good.i tried to tie everything in including my avatar..route 66,blue,cool cars etc..i am obsessed..
Wow. 66 cents. I looked up the inflation rate and that's around $6 to $7 today. To bad you can't get a new razor of that quality for that price anymore.
Ok, now I believe !!! https://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/sos-september-2020.64603/page-56#post-1855557 https://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/sos-september-2020.64603/page-58#post-1855820

Thur 17th Sept Omega 1126 boar Arko Stick-grated Schick Type F Schick S/S=Japan [ 5 ] Pitralon Original A/S Lotion A much more enjoyable and better Shave than yesterday with The Supply. I am really noticing the difference in blade width between Injectors and AC/SEs. I actually like the extra width which I really enjoy when clearing the cheeks. However, finish Shave quality with type F is always good.
Thursday's Shave Cold Water Rinse Proraso Sandalwood Jayaruh #18 Ever-Ready Bathroom Set Personna GEM SS PTFE CWR Aqua Velva Musk Today is Day 17 of SEptember. Up for the challenge today is my Ever-Ready Bathroom Set. The Proraso Sandalwood face-lathered well with Jayaruh #18 Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Ever-Ready Bathroom Set razor with a Personna GEM SS PTFE blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Aqua Velva Musk AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
Great picture. Love the cork background. We have some cork flooring in our house and have more that we want to install.
Thanks. Mine are cork wall tiles. I'd kept a few spares. When I started photographing my shaves for the forums; I was always on the lookout for different background media. Those tiles fit the bill nicely.
I used Tom’s adjustable handle this morning on my Gem 1912 this morning and got an outstanding shave. If anyone is interested in trying out the handle, we have a pass-around going on. https://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/adjustable-handle.64566/page-3#post-1856166
