  3. Bread of the Day; Ricotta Bread
    (I'll tell you how it is when it's done.)

    Making Strawberry Jam in my awesome Valentine's Day gift (a breadmaker) at the moment. Smelling goooood. :drool

    And heavily bacon laden BBQ Sesame Ginger Chicken Breasts are in the oven. I'll let you know how that turns out, too. Ran out of Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ Sauce so had to find some more sauce for the chicken. Ended up using a sesame ginger sauce.

    As for the bacon...........
    Never buying raw bacon again. Had to use a pound of bacon before it goes bad. So, on the chicken it went.
    Thank goodness for pre-cooked bacon!

  5. Oh my goooosh, that chicken was delicious! :drool Too much, though! One chicken breast, half a pound of bacon, cheese, fried onions & mushrooms, with diced tomato on top.

    Thank goodness the bread has a few hours before it's finished.

    And an extra big THANK GOODNESS I didn't make any side dishes! :eek:

  12. Shaun White is insanely incredible athlete...I don't even understand the sport that much, but it's easy for me to tell that he's absolutely the best in his category...that last run was simply phenomenal, and he wasn't even trying to compete, just having fun!

  14. So.....I think I know now why I don't like jam. Pectin. (is it just me, or does that word sound dirty?)

    The ricotta bread was pretty good. Nice texture, great crust. All gone.

    Now what bread to make tomorrow. :think002

    Now I'm thoroughly confused.
    I do not like jam or jelly, but I do like Smuckers Sugar Free Strawberry Preserves.

    Ok, so what's the difference? Wiki says jams and preserves are the same, made with the fruit. Jellies are made with the juice. Knew that.

    But I don't like jam!

    They all contain pectin. Fruit contains pectin. Some more than others.
    So, it can't be the pectin. :confused:
    Ain't the strawberries, of course!
    Sugar? Well, let's not get stupid. :rolleyes:
    Lemon juice? <shrug> I dunno.

    Maybe it's the combination?

    Anyway, I'm disappointed in Wiki for the first time that I can recall. And that's that. Bed now. :(
