That 'bout sums up my experience with open-edge shaving. :)

I'd probably like it, Jeff. I wear and enjoy Aramis, and many think it is old fashioned too. It reminds me of my Bride's Dad and Uncle. It's amazing how scents evoke such vivid memories.

    Sept 20 G7DC #7 Final Shave!

    Good afternoon guys!

    Straight Razor Shave #209
Max Sprecher 10/8 Half Hollow Barber's Notch
    Catie's Bubbles Tuxedo Brush
    Stirling Spice SS and AS

Well it took me 9 days to complete this 7 day challenge. Under normal circumstances, it would take me a little longer to complete 7 shaves. I guess that I am the last one to bring it home. Lol!
Everything worked well! The brush consistently performs well and there's nothing new to add about Stirling soap. I had 30 hrs of stubble to take off. I would wait for late this evening or tomorrow, but I have services this evening. 2.5 passes and minor touchups gave me a beautiful BBS shave. Again, I took my time, just like a barber to get a very meticulous shave. During this challenge, I have almost double the number of shaves than I had in the prior 3 months. It was 8 and now it is a total of 15 shaves with this razor. As expected, the shaves have improved during this time. Splashed on a liberal dose of the Spice aftershave to finish a perfect ending of the challenge. Sadly, Mad Max will be put away until the last shave of the month. Tomorrow will be a non-shave day. Have a great day guys! 20200920_153959.jpg 20200920_153959.jpg

You referring to ManHands? I don't think they have shaving stuff...though they might. Course if you meant my shave combo(Grandpa's Barbershop, followed by Clubman), forget the ManHands sentence :D

Well, Charlie, I turned on the Tour De France to catch the final race to the Arc de Triomphe, and the thing was OVER.

Hah! That’ll be the day! If you choose to smell like a genteel old lady that’s your business, my friend! I exist in a judgement-free zone! :happy068:

Y'know, Charlie, a reviewer for Stoylin's Stoylin Gentleman said, in so many words, that "You want a tobacco shave? THIS is IT". I imagine he was counting Tabac in his reply.

Had you read my answer to the gentleman's question, you wouldn't have had to say that. (teasing :).

Killer setup, Clint! I love the patina on the General. You did a nice job on that. The brush looks sweet too. I don't recall seeing this one before (even though I probably did).

Thank you Jeff. I have had this bottle of Floid Blue for years. It's something that works good for me but doesn't wow me.
