  1. It smells amazing, but alas, company no longer...not sure about tallow or veg but lathers very well.

  3. The lather in your pic looks great. I've long been curious about Col Conk and have read mixed reviews here. Easy to lather with a synthetic? Other bristles? I've never used a glycerin soap but the lime or bay rum appeals to me.

  4. I love this razor and it usually shaves fantastic. However the blades let me down today. Or maybe my technique was just really off. I started with a 6th use Gem SS. It was tuggy and rough. I wetted down the Tabac a bit more thinking it may have just been a bit on the dry side. I also switched to a new Pal carbon and concentrated more on what I was doing. Another rough pass. Ended up with a fair bit of irritation on my neck. Oh well can't win them all.

This razor never disappoints me I just love this old Gem Lather Catcher. 4 pass shave left me BBS. A close, comfortable, smooth shave with zero irritation and no blood. This razor is becoming my favorite razor to use even more so than my straights. Hope a war don't break out in the shave den . 20200921_182157.jpg

  6. The Gem Jr Bar is an excellent razor. I have 2 of them, one with the short wood handle and one with the 3 piece metal handle with the third piece being the stropping attachment.
I really like the handle you have with the hidden stropping attachment.

The elegant Schick N3 is the last of the modern [after H] USA produced Schicks. It is a favourite of mine as when fitted with a Twin blade it takes Injector Shaves to another level.I really enjoyed this mornings Shave despite the blade being on its 8th use it was smooth and very effective. That head shape makes it so easy to work around the nose.

  14. Thank you I love my Gem Junior Bar razor and the handle is great with the stropping attachment hidden inside. My other Lather Catcher is a 1904 Ever-Ready with the short wooden handle. The Gem Junior Bar with the stropping blades shaves a touch better than the Ever-Ready IMHO. I have a hand written note that came with the Gem saying it was a gift from his pal in January 1911 which is pretty cool giving it a timeline.
