Single Malt from Islay is an acquired taste I suppose. Sort of like The Veg maybe... It picks you; not the other way around. I think a Veg lover would enjoy whisky from Islay.

I enjoy lagavulin and oban.

If you like those, then Laphroaig and Ardbeg are in the same vein! I prefer Laphroaig to Ardbeg, but Ardbeg is $20.00 cheaper here. I am not so good with tasting notes, obviously. Talisker is quite a tasty dram as well.

Tonight, Crown Royal, with a Montecristo. A close shave, a good meal, a good drink, a good cigar, and a pretty girl.

A Maple Cinammon Whisky Sour before dinner, and an Irish Coffee after.

For now - a Manhattan made with Jack Daniels Rye. Later - Hot Buttered Rum or Irish Coffee.

An Old Fashioned made with Jack Daniels Rye. First time I've made one with rye. Very different taste; I like it. I'm not usually a fan of rye. I keep it around for Manhattans.
