Seriously how does anyone watch the olympics after that mockery of procedure that was the Chinese girls gymnastics program? In my mind, that firmly cemented the corruption and invalidity of any actions overseen by the IOC. Add to that NBC's involvement, and what little interest I might have had is totally dissolved. It's all a big dog-and-pony show designed to distract the world from real issues at hand, and serves only to whitewash the dirty underside of international relations. :angry037
yeup, all very, very, valid points....but still, there are a few [slash]female athletes[/slash], errrrr, events, that capture my attention..... I still vote for beach volleyball be moved to winter olympics, too. as is - the only difference made being the environmental ones...snow instead of sand.
You know, the little 12 year-- er, I mean, 16 (yeah, that's it, 16--nod nod wink wink) year old girls taking the gold.
I am all for year-round beach volleyball. We have the technology. If we can have a rodeo, a hockey game, and a truck and tractor pull in the same indoor arena, we can certainly dump 10,000 pounds of sand on the floor and crank the heat up for beach-like conditions.
Oh. I was very unaware of that. I haven't really been following the Olympics. I like how this man thinks...
I understand why Donald Solo looks ticked... I mean, Minnie Mouse in the bikini?!? She's no Carrie Fisher.
