Thinking about getting one of those turn-by-turn gps systems for my car... You know, "Turn right ahead...Turn right now...You stupid idiot, make a U-turn at your earliest convenience...To H*LL with it...recalculating...recalculating...and to think, I could have been a toaster, instead... turn left ahead..."

    Any advice, tips, or suggestions?

I'm looking to get an inexpensive (sub $150) one if at all possible.

Do they make one that comes with large friendly letters that say "Don't Panic" ?

wait, I thought you were already married? :happy102

I've not had any experience with GPS's, so I'm of no help - it's kinda strange, though, I've been asked 3 times this week by people if I could help them with their GPS's....do I look like a GPS person? Okay, so I work on computer and like gadget-y things....

of course, sometimes that makes you feel like the "leprechaun" in that FedEx comercial, though...

at that price I dont know of any. I spent double that for my wife's GPS and I learned to listen when it says road construction ahead expect backups. That feature of live updating traffic jams is gold. Garvin. Go to amazon.com and they can show you the breakdown of all Garvin products features.

    Ok, how freakish.

So I'm seriously considering the Garmin Nuvi 205, available at my local walmart for 99.00...

Pull up youtube, let's look for a video review...

Click on one... turns out the guy doing the review is a regular at another wetshaving forum which will remain nameless. It is indeed a small world.

    That was just weird.

huh.... anyone know anything about Splashtop? Wife's new netbook appears to be stuck in 24 bit color mode when running splashtop. She needs to set it to 16 for some of her apps to work.

Home by 1330. Two beers down. About to nap. I'd say it's pretty freakin' dandy.

Could someone please explain to me, why is it that when you sleep "funny" and get a crick in your neck, invariably, it'll be on the same side as the shoulder you have to look over when pulling out onto the main road? I can look to my right until the cows come home, but man a 3 degree turn to the left almost brings tears to my eyes. When I pull off of my road and onto the main highway, I have to crane my head clear over my left shoulder. Why does it always seem to work out that way?
