The red and the green are also translucent, but the yellow is the most striking. It's not easy (for me) to capture in a photograph, but they are all quite beautiful in the hand.
I used a favorite of mine this morning, the Gem flying wing with the “guiding eye”. This razor is so very smooth and mild, yet I can get a BBS out of it with two passes! It’s a total pleasure to use!
That was how I was originally designating them because they were known to have come in a set called a Peerless which the gen 1 versions I don't think were ever packaged that way. It wasn't known that they weren't sold side by side throughout the whole run at the time, it was assumed that it was until evidence showed up proving otherwise. I've never heard of the 1st gens being brass and would bet if you check them carefully you should find some remnants of chrome plating somewhere on the underside or inside of the razor handle.
Friday's Shave Cold Water Rinse GZD Berber Stick Jayaruh #415 Schick I Hydro-magic Personna injector CWR Pinaud Clubman Vanilla Today is Day 25 of SEptember. Up for the challenge today is my Schick I Hydro-magic. The GZD Berber Stick face-lathered well with Jayaruh #415 Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Schick I Hydro-magic razor with a Personna injector blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pinaud Clubman Vanilla. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
Fri 25th Sept Jayaruh Syn. No67 Vitos Super Red Schick C1 Schick Proline [ 1 ] GB Grey Flannel A/S Lotion. Finished my Razor rotation with an early Schick - the open comb C1. After recent Shaves with Twin Blades I was quite surprised at just how good this Razor is in comparison. Making sure not to rush, the Shave was smooth and comfortable and the finish quality being up there with the best that I get with a single blade Injector. In fact rarely do I get my cheeks so smooth. Must really use my Repeater Schicks more often , they look a bit intimidating but treated with respect and care they are really good.
I see no signs of chrome anywhere on either of them. Not even deep in the grooves on the handle. There are also at least 2 other examples on the Bay that appear to be raw brass right now. Both have decent pictures and I see know indication of chrome remnants. The one is quite worn looking bit the other looks pretty good.
