Thank you Andrew. The Henson is a mild razor for sure. I seem to be returning to mild razors that require good technique.

 

Love the B&W photo Charlie. Mike's Lavender is a very good soap. I love the straight forward lavender scent.

 

Great shave Jim! Great news about your retirement status! Well, if you decide to stay, then you could rack up more funds for your retirement as well as use up your accrued sick and vacation time by having 3 day weekends; maybe a 4 day weekend as well. You will be in the driver's seat either way.

 

Good morning all.... or is it afternoon??.

Wanted to chime in on a new razor I received a few days ago.
Yaqi Katana SE.
I'm really liking it, not as efficient as it could be but still a great shave all in all.
Been using it the last 6 or 7 days and find it hard to give up for another.
Using Feather blades in it makes it a confirmed top 10 on the hit parade.

It has a good feel and gives a consistent high level shave.
I have another razor that use half blades but it can't compete.
Even my Golf SE that uses full blades but only exposes one side is still not shave like this one.
Even though my Golf is an exalent shaver, it takes second seat to the Katana.
I get a clean, smooth, issue free shave just like the Yaqi Hemet.
They put this in a lower class of efficiency compared to the Helmet but it's very close. I'd say a close second, very close second.

That's my 2¢.

Superb shave, Joseph! I am a face latherer from the puck and I think it's more efficient because I am not including that extra step of using a bowl.

Another strategy might be to keep your retirement plans mum as far as work is concerned. That might open up the possibility of your company offering an incentive package to retire.

Or you could hint at retirement if separation benefits were offered.

Another strategy is to delay retirement until the beginning of the year in order to accrue benefits for the upcoming year.
