Somewhere I've heard that they changed to a different blade...either improved from what they used to offer (which were Personnas) or had theirs specially made (maybe with a different grind and/or polishing). That's when they started putting them in the new all-plastic dispensers. From your report this morning, they're pretty darn good.

Since the Black Ship Grooming sample was finished off yesterday, a new sample was up to bat today. B&M Lavanille.
Primo @Primotenore , I thought of you when lathering the Lavanille. It's a brown soap, that reportedly can stain natural hair brushes. When you get enough water into the mix, the lather is white-ish. It's mostly tan up until that point. Too bad it wasn't grainy too. :D

Yep...Sabre w/PTFE blade again. Wicked good shave again. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
Have a great Sunday evening, fellas!

Mongoose (batch 2) in satin SS finish w/Big Bomber handle
    Feather Super Professional SE (4)
B-400 by Tom handle w/Envy White Supreme two-band knot
Mike's Natural Soaps Hungarian Lavender soap
    Alum
    Thayers Unscented Witch Hazel
    Unrefined Shea Butter
    Almond Oil
Jeeves of Hudson Street Blood on Steel aftershave

I didn't have much growth from yesterday, so I gave the mug one pass (WTG cheeks/ATG neck) and a few touch-ups around my mouth and chin. I can get a lot done with a simple shave using good technique/tools if I pay attention to skin stretching. It was nice and comfortable, and I finished just in time for BBQ chicken, brown rice, and fresh garden veggies for lunch. I'm still not sure how that happened. Good timing, I guess. :)

Just a side note about the Mike's soap container. Since it has a circular cross-sectional area, I have found through extensive laboratory trials that optimum swirling and brush loading occurs with left-handed, clock-wise circular swirls © combined with carefully applied wrist English™. Lab data is available upon request.

    Grace and Peace.

I am not aware of one that won't work with the feather blades. I'm 99% sure but I'm not an expert.

Delightful one-passer, Charlie! I hope you had a relaxing day!
    Left-handed? That would be awkward.

Thanks Bruce. It was a good day, and the weather was great. I'm a lefty, so that's my primary shaving and brushing hand. I will shave right-handed as needed when I'm using my shavette. Oddly enough, I throw a baseball and am learning to play guitar right-handed. I eat with both hands, though. I'd use my feet too if I could lift them high enough. ;)

I hope your day was relaxing, Bruce!

I gathered that you're a lefty. It's interesting that you throw a ball right-handed, as well as playing guitar.
I can use the SRX left-handed a little bit - enough to say I can. I still gravitate to the right hand most of the time.
We had decent weather here today too. Actually...the weather has been good here for a week or two. I'm ready for it to cool off. Anything approaching 80 Deg. F is entirely too warm. The bride handed me a Post-It note with my list of chores for the day, which have long been completed. It's best to drag them out all day, otherwise other items could be added. ;)

I just do REGULAR sweeping motions with my brush. Does this deduct points for me too? (And don't ask me to define regular lol)

Thank you, Gary! For a tallow based soap with lanolin, it's a good bang for the buck.

That's an exceptional shave lineup, Jim! Are the Supply blades made by Personna?

    Thank you, Andrew!

The Supply website only states American made. I would guess that they're made by Personna to Supply specs.
