+1 Sandalwood is my second fav scent. Very nice from TOBS. But after I smelled Cyril R. Salter "Indian Sandalwood", all the others are just good to me.
I have a number of TOBS shave creams and love most if not all of them. Here’s a list of TOBS creams I currently own. Platinum Sandalwood Mr Taylor’s Luxury/St James Tobacco Leaf Royal Forrest Eton College A quick question for those who own Platinum shave cream; is it just me or does the TOBS Platinum cream seem quite a bit more runny than other creams? In the tub it appears to be more like a thick liquid than a dense cream like the other creams. It still lathers but I’m just curious.
yes it is,i have 2,the first one was quite runny so i asked the vendor and he sent me another,it was marginally better..they both lather very well..
I also have sevearal TOBS creams. Sandalwood Graprefruit Lemon & Lime Shave Shop Eton College Aloe Vera Almond I like most of them except the Lemon & Lime. It seems to be more finicky than the others when it comes to working up a good quality lather and I really don't like the scent of it. My favorites though are Eton College, Grapefruit and Almond.
A quick heads up. West Coast Shaving has a 15% off all TOBS products on their website. I just bought Grapefruit, No. 50 & Rose shave creams.
the only TOBS cream I own is tobacco leaf and it is EXCELLENT very high quality scent, too bad there isn't an EDT or after shave splash of this.
There is a tobacco leaf aftershave listed on the official TOBS website; not sure where else it's available. I love the scent, looking forward for sure to the aftershave. Also in my TOBS repertoire: lavender, lime zest, royal forest.
The TOBS Avocado is one of those must-haves that is an all-time staple in my opinion. First time I smelled it, I absolutely loved it!
I got the Royal Forest line recently and it is as good as the Tobacco Leaf scent in terms of fragrance. I haven't had the pleasure of trying the tobacco leaf scent, but it'll be next when I run out of my royal forest.
The lather is as good as any. I admire the price. Mine are Sandalwood, Peppermint, and Cedarwood. The P and the C are excellent scents, but the Sandalwood is only tolerable but not to be missed when it finally gets used up.
I recently bought some TOBS Sandalwood. The cream lathered really well and provided a great shave but the scent was just too overpowering for me. My towels, my bathroom, my whole house seemed to smell of sandalwood! So I ditched it. I kept the nice plastic dish it came in though. I took the labels off and I keep my Stirling Sandpiper Soap in there!
Gotta love these threads started 8 yrs earlier. I'll chime in with the TOBS that work best for me are the straight scents like Grapefruit, Coconut, and Peppermint. The samples of Eton College, Jermyn St. and Mr. Taylor I tried I could hardly smell.
