1. Pfft.... you're never too old for Gravity to mess with you! ;)

thankfully it was nothing worse. Feel better
  2. The fall itself didn't hurt (only my pride). This morning is a whole different matter.

  3. The fall is never the problem It's the sudden stop at the end that causes all the problems.
  4. Ah, good point.

  5. I replaced the headlights on my 2006 Dodge truck. They had yellowed beyond repair, and I had done the sanding down, and recoating twice before. It was a fast replacement, and cheaper than I thought. Now the trucks lights look factory new, and I can see at night, when I decide to take it out for a drive.
  6. I declined to help my oldest son move two heavy maple dressers up the stairs into his new apartment. (I did load and fetch them 35 miles in the old minivan from the Craigslist source.) Then I declined to help haul his 100+ lb potted plant up those same stairs. The older I get, the manlier I am about protecting my back.

    It's the law!
    Hope you feel better soon.

  8. My issue is that I always want to help and that means over-exerting myself at times. I think that subconsciously I want to prove to myself that I'm just as strong and capable as I was 30 years ago (although (grudgingly admitted) I know that I'm not).

  9. Aah your only 52 like me and a few others around here. Waking up achy lets me know I worked hard the day before. I work with men half my age and I think I surprise them when they see just how strong I still am. That said there are times I'll say out loud "All done lifting for today" when I've work my back enough and don't want to hurt it.

Growing old doesn't mean you're not strong ...... just wise enough to know when you need to be strong.

  10. Don't know if this counts
I've melted and cast about 180grams of CoCr alloy .
It's daily routine but working with metal always seemed butch to me
  11. I raised the draw weight on my bow to 40lb.

  12. Falling is something to be avoided. It reminds me of last year when I fell off my ladder and broke my knee (tibial plateau). That was on October 4. It has been a year, and I am still not 100%. 85% maybe. I cannot walk without thinking about it. I take a cane out in the yard and when we go away. I am hoping for 100% one day.

  16. Jim, I sincerely mean this as a compliment, with your head in perspective with that roof line you slightly resemble Robert Wadlow. Are you actually on the tall side?
