    I'm always lucky.
Just watching the UK shop, I see the Henson Shaving AL13 Dual Tone.

Looks like the Blue / Red is different.
And I can not see It on the HS website.
So I grab one very quickly.

Similar to nothing I've used before.
Actually I feel this is a real AL13N shave ...

I've been seeing Henson being mentioned on facebook a lot lately, usually in "recommend me a mild razor" posts.

Normally I don't understand and do not care all the hype on new models.
But this time, I'm in the crowd.
    This is DAMN GOOD !!!

Actually, Men / Medium is NOT a mild shaver.
Very effective, very comfortable, very efficient.
With .85mm gap and a (very) little positive exposure, the super stiff blade is almost mute.
Not exactly for a newbie. IMHO.

    @PLANofMAN
FB is not the best place for advise.
    Mostly, wolves masked to sheeps.

My experience with Muppet Razor is going on ...

With little practice, it became easy to manage the cutting angle.
Almost instant to find, and fairly easy to maintain.
The only drawback is the need to clean the razor often.
Not because it gets clogged, on the contrary, but because of the lack of exposure.

Contrary to Mellon geometry, the "water blade" here is scarce.
    http://ilrasoio.com/viewtopic.php?p=291744#p291744
Therefore it finds advantage in frequent cleaning, and supply of water.
This makes the cut clean and extremely efficient.
In three passes, totally silent, an absolute BBS.
Like comfort during and after shaving.

    Again, I am seriously impressed.
This Henson Shaving AL13 Medium Dual Tone BRB is a real treat.

About the two models, here all info in one place.

Finished up a three day run with the Henson AL13. It has proven to be an efficient razor. When I do my part it delivers a wonderful smooth drama free shave. For my purposes, I do wish it had a touch more blade exposure but that is down to personal preferences.

I had the same feelings in the first days.
But now I see It was all abount the angle.
The more I use, the easier It shaves.

My experience with the Muppet Razor continues.
On IG they point out that it is in full Captain America style.

Adapting my practice, the razor is very performing.
Gentle on the skin, but in three passes the result is perfect.
Mine are orthogonal to my face mapping, in everyday use.
An excellent fast and durable BBS, and above all a lot of comfort.

As can be seen in detail, this geometry has a flaw in its ease of cleaning.

Considering also the fact that the two bases are not interchangeable, I would like a slight modification.
    https://damnfineshave.com/thread-he...-who-brought-you-the-iss?pid=349933#pid349933
It would take little to eliminate both of these inconveniences, which would make the expansion of the experience more attractive.
In fact, I personally would like to try the Mild version, if the simple compatible base is available.
And I would do it easier knowing that I don't have to waste time with the toothbrush to avoid limescale.

But in fact, this Henson Shaving AL13 does not present any real difficulties.
Although less intuitive and more technical than expected.
Once you understand how to handle it, it's a real pleasure.

    Today, the challenge.
    https://theshaveden.com/forums/posts/1863700/

For the first time, my champion is in trouble.
In the sense that it finds an opponent at his height.
Both for effectiveness and above all for comfort.

After the proper apprenticeship, Henson Shaving AL13 is easy and precise.
I prefer it for the fun coloring, and the greater lightness.
But these details don't affect the final result.
    In that they are equal.

The cold numbers say the PP1489, in Maggard's original version with V3, is cheaper.
And not a little, given that in practice the price is half compared to the challenger.
Indeed in the simplest version (V3 Chrome on MR14), it is well under half.
Not to mention the easy availability, unlike the challenger.
So in the end, better value for money.

Moving on to a more complex and subjective concept, I'm not sure of the relative value.
Different in everything, both in materials and finishes and in concept and philosophy.
In this I believe that Henson Shaving is superior, because of innovation.
But I would have chosen to facilitate the user with the changes already suggested.

For these last two details, I consider the champion superior.
Which continues to be undefeated, but this time ... by a hair !!!
    :p :p :p

I am a big fan. Gives me the best combination of closeness and comfort I have found.
Replaces my Focus Dynamic R48 as my daily shaver.

I still use my iKon X3 when the hair gets too long but otherwise this one is the bomb.

I'm ashamed to admit it took me far longer to get the muppet reference than it should have. At first, I thought it was a reference to "confirmation bias muppet" Facebookers. Then I thought it was perhaps a reference to "Super Grover," my favorite muppet of all time.
    dce294083c210f22bcd38aa09aa296f8.jpg
Then I realized "Henson" = Jim Henson, creator of the Muppets.

IMO, them calling it a "Captain America" razor was a huge missed opportunity to play up the muppet connection. Carry on. :)

Thank to a friend, today first contact with Henson Mild.

It's effective as the cousin, but more gentle.
IMHO It's even easier to use.
Aircraft Aluminium color is great in SOTDs too.
    Even better in B&W photography.

In one word ... FANTASTIC !!!

After the shave battle with my champion FrankenRazor PP1489, the Henson AL13 Mild is almost there.
With some time It'd be my new standand as efficiency.
But I do not like some details, as the not-so-easy cleaning process.
And the US only distribution, being me in EU.
I can not find even the "dual tone" version in US shop.

More details in the FB, because It's easier for me to explain in my language ... and you can read in your.

I received my Silver Henson in medium last friday. Love the design and the feel. Before i ordered, i had some thoughts about the weight, but i have to say, i like it very much.

Seems that the razor will have a great handling due to the light weight. My first shave will be tomorrow. I´m very curious.

The razors are all made in Canada. In the same factory where parts for the Mars Rover beeing produced.

I find that the Henson gives me the best shaves of the razors I own. But I have never been a big fan of the weight. Recently I have started using the Henson head on the handle from my AS-D2. It feels like the best of both worlds right now. The added steel gives it some heft and makes the shaving process a little more deliberate and the Henson head gives that great result. I don't find the change in center of balance to be an issue.
