A great start to OCtober. 3 nice passes with the New Deluxe resulted in almost complete smoothness, albeit with one tiny weeper beside my mouth that chose not to keep fighting through the witch hazel, let alone stand up to the alcohol.
This SV scent is amazing. I find that I have a 'Big 3' of SV scents- this one, Cubebe and, of course, Felce Aromatica. The Fine is a good match as well.
    Have a great day all!

It's really a nice shaver, Joe, but the blade centering issue is certainly annoying!

Now those are some great cameras! The only TLR i've tried was a Lubitel, was a bit difficult to use as the shutter was somewhat sticky.
I haven't shot that much film lately either, actually i quite often just use my phone, even though the camera on it could be a lot better.

Thanks Jeff, i do enjoy your posts too.

Thanks, Bruce! It was a surprisingly good shave! The LaResche is an amazing blade holder! With a Polsilver it’s hard to beat!

I think with my order of 2 Bill Neumann aftershaves, I'll be getting 2 sample sets flipped in(one for each aftershave).

Wet Shaving Products SS & AS - Mahogany
    Zingari Man ASB - unscented
    Gillette Ball End Tech OC
    Voskhod
    Jason's 2019 30DC LE w/Omega Boar

OC October, mixing it up, have 3 OC safety razors. One OC shave a week, the remaining 5-6 shaves will be straights/kamis.

I'll defer to @brit to determine if this Gillette's labeling right. Rarely used, pulled from the TSD traveling box earlier this year. It was my youngest daughters choice, but she found it too aggressive for leg shaving. Very nice condition, save for the common (but slight in this razor's case) handle split near the bottom. WSP's Mahogony, a recent BST acquisition in a lot purchase. Wow, a winner for sure, very, very nice fragrance both for the shaving soap and aftershave. @jtspartan's brush handle loaded with the recommended Omega 10098 boar knot....awesome bowl and face lather from WSP's Formula T. The Gillette OC loaded with a Voskhod teflon coated blade, easy automatic shave today. 2.5 passes, BBS results with zero shenanigans.

Here's WSP's description of Mahogany: It's a little sweet, a little spicy, and a lot of sexy. Sensual, woody, and spicy is how one customer's wife described it. "It reminds me of walking through a forest." is how another customer put it. "A perfect blend of sweet, spicy, & woody". I started with a base note of mahogany and then accented it with bergamot, vanilla, cedar and allspice notes. Then I threw in some cedar, vanilla, & patchouli to round it out.

In this den, for my nose,, it's incredible. Hope the fragrance longevity lasts all day. Wifey super approved.

Hope everyone has an awesome Thursday!

I had a Mahogony soap from Lee&the gang(WSP). Quite good indeed.

I'm having that issue with a couple of my boar brushes. They seem to be getting better with continued use. Best of luck to you.

    OCtober 1st

    Razor: Gillette Bostonian
    Blade: Rapira SwedishSteel
    Brush: The Blue Monster
SS & AS: Stirling Executive Man

I realized this morning that I'm about to break through the bottom of the first few Stirling soaps I purchased last year. I'm getting that initial impulse to conserve, which is kind of crazy because I can use them up and buy replacements at any time. I also noticed I'm very sparing with the AS. As the soap is below 50% and the AS still has about 75%. So, I guess I should use more AS. Plus, the Blue Monster is a soap glutton. It's my favorite brush right now so I guess I'll be wasting some soap.

Having a little extra time and LOTS of lather, I went for a 3-pass shave today to see how much of a difference it would make over my now standard 2-pass shave. It's not a fair comparison because I took extra time stretching my skin and adjusting for the grain of my beard, but today's 3 pass shave is BBS everywhere. I'm pretty sure the extra skin stretching has the stubble below BBS. I may still be BBS in the late afternoon.

I've learned a few things in the last month. The various razors in my collection perform differently, but it doesn't take much adjusting to get a great shave with most of them. Have a great day everyone!

    Thursday’s Shave

    Eversharp/Schick Hydromagic
    Schick blade (2)
    Turn-N-Shave ‘Party Brush’
    Palmolive Menthol Shaving Cream
    Dickinson’s Witch Hazel
    Old Spice Pure Sport Aftershave

I altered my travel shave today by adding the OS Pure Sport aftershave. It does smell like the body wash and it’s similar to the deodorant. My stepdad has that body wash scent in the guest bathroom and my son brought that deodorant on this trip so I had a good comparison sniff.

2 passes with the Hydromagic provided a comfortable shave this morning. The second use of the new to me Chick blade was good like yesterday. Still not much difference, if any, to the Personna blades.

Pronouncing the e or not is correct usage for Italian surnames. My last name ends in the familiar -one and I don't pronounce the e. By the way, there is a family of chemicals that are Italian in origin. They are the Ketone family. You guys are familiar with a famous member of this family and it is acetone.
