Last night did another old spice shave, this time though instead of using that 40s puck I brought out the other puck I've been using a lot (late 60- early 70s)
that yaqi brush built up an awesome lather in my crystal bowl with lots of peaks. still has a wonderful scent left in the soap, very pleasant.
used a Gillette 7 o clock Blade ( I forget which one) but i think it's a new favorite of mine. not cuts with that shave.
the post shave feel was spectacular as with any os puck
finished off the shave with some 80s OS after shave.
for this to have been a working man's soap it is as good as an artisan soap IMHO, better slickness and post shave feel than some artisans, as well.
No shave for today. Ya'll have a great Friday!

Awesomeness was abound in Alabama this morning!

The Shark blade is on the second run and seemed a little better than the first go around. No blood loss. :)

Added the R2 stainless steel plate to the aluminum ATT for a different look. A little head heavy but still very controllable.

Soap Commander is just top notch and finished the bay rum theme with some Pinaud Virgin Island Bay Rum.

    Showing off my ATT teeth.

Aluminum R2 and H2, Stainless Steel R2 and H2. Made in the USA.

ATT has let me down. They have outsourced some razor production to China.:(

Hope everyone has a great day.

That was a quick mastery of MWF. Nice Fat Friday shave, Clint! Do you think grating the puck proved to be the difference maker?

Morning gents. I will continue my SE focus and post a shave later today. OCtober has started off with a bang. I love seeing all the cool OC razors.

I have been knot shopping for @MrEE's Danger handle and am learning toward a Maggard's SHD two-bander. I would like something different than I already have, and options are limited for 30 mm knots. I plan to keep looking.

My B.C. friend will use his Karve and Proraso products for the first time today. He was thrilled with his gift. JR #416 is enroute, so his suds will be hand applied for now.

Film cameras? Yes, I have a Canon AE-1 that I purchased new in 1983. I haven't used it in a long time, but I had 10 times more fun using film than digital. Many moons ago, I also had a Canon A-1. I've had a couple of (plain vanilla) Canon pocket digital cameras that have since moved on and currently use a Nikon D5200 with the standard lens. I can't justify upgrading the Nikon because as we all know, Technique Trumps Tools. :)

    Happy Friday!

Fantastic shave, Myles. You may be the only HS Senior in the country that rocked an epic vintage shave this morning.

I read your earlier post, and I'm glad school is going well. We all know how focused you are, so I expect this will be a school year to remember.

Have a great day, and stay safe.

    Thank you Charlie. Happy Friday

I wouldn't say I have mastered MWF. I picked a brush that would make it easier on me to lather anything. Next week, I will be using a boar brush which could change everything. I do not think grating the puck made any difference at all. My plans now are to use the MWF 6 days a week. I suspect me using it more often will make a huge difference as the puck absorbs more and more water making it easier to load and lather.

    Morning, Charlie!

AE-1 is a great camera! The FD-mount lenses are relatively inexpensive these days.

D5200 is a good one too. I have a D3200, i use it with the old manual focus lenses. No metering though.

Thanks Myles. My friend was very excited. He hasn't used a DE razor since he served in the Canadian military. He went in with a Ronson electric razor. His drill instructor noticed his crummy shave, asked to see his razor, stated that it wasn't military issue, dropped it on the floor, and stomped it to pieces. He used a DE razor for several years after that. So much for polite Canadians.

You might want to leave your shave gear at home when you go to Boot. :)

Beautiful shave and photos Danny. I am not sure that ATT made a wise choice moving the razor production offshore. I thought they had moved all the production.
