Several gas stations (and Piggly Wiggly) near my Mom's house sell pickled eggs (spicy and non-spicy). They are available in chicken and quail varieties. I prefer the spicy quail eggs and have a jar in my fridge.
Pickled pig's feet have never tempted me.

SOTD SATURDAY MORNING, OCTOBER 3, 2020

Really great shave on this bright, sunny, cool morning in the Philadelphia suburbs. I’m starting to favor this old Civil War era Sheffield straight razor’s edge. The buttery smooth three pass (WTG, ATG, XTG) to “Bridge Over Troubled Waters” was a true pleasure. The new @MrEE Monster Tuxedo Synth is a joy to use. It’s become my #1 head shaving brush, but also is spectacular on my mug! It again generated huge, billowing waves of Nuavia Blu lather, easily enough for three or four shaves. It’s a real soap eater. My two pass (ATG, ATG) dome shave with the French Famex Adjustable OC was every bit as good as my face shave! I feel incredibly refreshed, clean, smooth and velveteen!

RAZOR: Manhattan Cutlery Sheffield 13/16 French Point (Mug), Famex Adjustable Head on ATT Atlas Handle (Dome)
    BLADE: Suneko DE
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by Argan Oil
BRUSH: MrEE Aluminum Monster Tuxedo Synth
    SOAP: Panncrema Nuavia Blu
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with PAA Frost Byte Peppermint AS Splash.

    Good morning fellas!

    Straight Razor Shave #213
C-Mon 11/16 Full Hollow Sq Pt
C-Mon Heritage Collection SHD Badger Brush
    Stirling Satsuma SS and AS
    Beard growth: 40 hrs.

This shave is dedicated to @jgreenepa Jeff to celebrate his new C-Mon straight razor. I decided to pick my larger C-Mon razor for the task at hand. Anyway, I just love Satsuma's mandarin scent because it is light and clean. The C-Mon brush really is a fine latherer, but you have to paint the lather, otherwise, the lather goes into the handle. Did 2 passes for a BBS- shave without any issues. Finished with the Stirling Satsuma aftershave. It was a pleasant and enjoyable shave. Have a nice Saturday guys! 20201002_211132.jpg

Hi and welcome! Since you're new, I would suggest laying the razor flat on your face and slightly lift the razor to spine width (20/30 degrees). This would prevent you from cutting yourself when you land the blade and give you the right angle to shave. The spine is the top of the razor away from the edge for a shavette. I would also suggest not to shave your entire face. I would just do the cheeks, stop, and finish with your regular razor. Do this a number of times until you feel comfortable to continue the neck area. Same routine. Slowly progress until you can do one pass. At the point, you can start the second pass going acroos the grain or against the grain of your beard. You need to know how your beard grows in order to do so. My final suggestion is to look at You Tube videos on shavette shaving. Geofatboy has some excellent shavette shaving videos. Also, we go by first names. I am Joe.

We had the communal jar of pickled eggs in lots of places too, but not the pigs feet.

Chef Boyardee is one of the few canned items shown here that is/was popular north of the border too. I ate a ton of that stuff as a young kid.
