I’ve decided this John & Wm Ragg Paragon is a demanding razor. Raggs and Lunds (which Ragg may have made for them) are among my favorite razors - smooth, close, they shave like a dream. This one has been hard to dial in. What I concluded tonight is it offers a very narrow window of an efficient angle. Too much and it grabs and wants to bit. Too little and stubble is left showing. Just right and voila. That “just right,” of course, is the trick. :chores016:

Matt, I must say, every time I see one of your Type F's, I am so impressed with how perfect the condition is. Outstanding my friend.

I tried my hand at honing for the first time this morning and decided to give my refreshed edge a spin. What I learned is that it looks easier than it is. Getting the feel for holding the razor just right while lapping the stone takes a touch that I will need practice developing. Nevertheless, my edge felt improved and it was a pleasure to use. I look forward to practicing this skill further and keeping my edges to my liking.

Thanks. I take pretty good care of them.

The other filter (darker, cooler) was neat, but this one adds a bit of creepiness. Well done.
