Sorry, I can't resist compliment whoring. Actually, I do want some honest feedback on my latest review, I tried to be creative, and I'm not completely confident that I pulled it off well.

Huh... the Sherlock Holmes movie was based on the book series? I didn't know that. I thought it was just another loosely based on a work of literature buut not really movies. Huh... its already out on Video? Well when was it in the theater?

I should really start paying better attention to pop culture...

Yay! New couch has arrived at the store. Now I have to wait another week for it to be delivered.

Was my review that bad?

 

It's not specifically based on any of the books, more of a gestalt sort of thing. It feels like it could be based on a Holmes book, but it really isn't. The movie does a good job of keeping adapting the concept of Sherlock to fit with modern tastes. It's kind of hard to explain. If you go into it thinking "this is gonna be a hollywood 'reimagining' of Sherlock Holmes" then you'll come out okay. It's got enough elements from the books and the characters are true enough in tone to keep things compelling.

Just remember these two words: Popcorn movie.

I know the whole will it blend? campaign is just a viral marketing thing, but dang, those things do a fine job of pulverizing stuff, don't they?

 

true... can't say I ever wanted a blender more than one of those.

I tried to submit a request for a Gillette Fusion and some canned shave goo... but the form didn't work. I wonder how much pressure is in one of those cans.....

I can't believe I am still awake. That nap during the arena football game that was on must have been longer than I thought.
