There is a veritable ass-ton of this going around. I've had several computers at work (including mine) get hit with either the one you've got or something similar. If you don't catch it in the first few seconds, you're in for a fun afternoon (or two) of working magic to even get your spyware scanners to run. I've had pretty good luck using rkill.com and then running ccleaner to look at what's loading on startup. Then, I boot with a linux livecd (puppy) and delete any files that look like "mkajdkl.dll" Reboot in windows and then update and run malwarebytes, adaware, and/or spybot. Veritible PITA.

Uggh - avoid any and all virii at all costs (computer or otherwise).
Glad you got to a point that it seems removed. I'm always very antsy when I get to the point that I think it's gone, because you never know what may be hiding around. But, as long as it's running fine, you probably got all the active stuff, and if there's anything left it can't cause a problem. But it stills annoys the ever-loving snot out of me.

Also, and a tangent Digital Rights Management sucks, too....

    Amen, bro, amen

yeah, I do NOT miss beginning-of-school-year virus scourges back at ATL!
I've got to hand it to Sophos, though. I've been here at my current PoE for going on three years, and what very few viruses have been encountered have not been a problem at all, almost always already in quarantine, and easy to clean up.

    So, the lesson here today?
    Always use protection! :D

website- but more accurate, link hijack. I clicked on an link that was part of a google search and I was re-routed to a porn website. The virus was loaded into my computer before I could even close the window. Beware of this one. It loads your desktop with bad stuff.

It took me forever to be able to run an updated version of malwarebytes. At first, the virus would let me run it but MWB wouldn't find anything. Then I figured out that either:

    a. it had uninstalled the most recent update or
    b. I hadn't updated it recently (may have been the case)

It let me update MWB and then wouldn't let me load MWB. Oh, and it shut down Task Manager and uninstalled AVG as well as a host of other programs. I think it even removed Microsoft Office. This is one nasty virus. It puts pop-ups on your computer for its bogus product AND it changes the Microsoft Security Alert so that it recommends their "program."

So I did a system restore to before the computer got infected. That stopped the popups but the virus was still there. MWB ran (very, very slowly). I found that it hadn't really updated so I finally did so, once and for all. Then I ran it once and stopped the scan after it caught part of the program.

Then I ran a full scan using MWB and it caught the entire thing.

Took something like nine hours and lots of cursing. Thank goodness God forgives.

Okay guys, someone over at Gizmodo commented that I got the font wrong on my spoof iPad nano commercial, so I tweaked it a little. Here's the "improved" version.

    How's that?

okay, okay, okay... Micah, we've had lots of laughs poking fun at the Ipad and calling the touch an Ipad nano, but I'm beginning to reconsider my stance a little bit.....

hey, I actually prefer AMD...although, they lost their dominance when multicore chips came out and Intel took back over as the superior CPU maker.
However, AMD's latest quad-cores get very high reviews, although the Intel i7 (there's that friggin' "I" crap again...) are the current end-all/be-all chip.

    wow, no bites?
    okay, I'll finish my thought....

First, we rename the Ipod touch to be Ipad.

Next, since the current Ipad is nothing more than a maximized Itouch, it becomes the Max-Ipad

My implication was that AMD was moving over to "the dark side."

    groan...

yeah, I was just reading that...though I do like it better than ipad (99% of that reason being there is no pretentious "i" at the beginning...)

honestly, I don't get the joke. I don't own any iJunk, not even one of their overpriced mp3 players. I understand the iTouch is just an oversized version of something they've already done, but that's the limit of my comprehension.

I'm torn. I like the fact that the product doesn't start with "i." I don't get how anyone could take it seriously with a name like the Streak. It makes me think of Ray Stevens. I suppose they'll release a full sized version called the Skidmark.
