I hope and pray you all are OK. We have friends over in Pensacola, and it's heartbreaking to see what happened there.

Wow, sounds like a situation. Sorry to hear Joe. I hope you can get that reconciled immediately. Wifey and I dealt with a situation like that early on in life.

Small PSA (and my opinion)...my previous life’s very last job was a network intrusion engineer, at the manufacturing level. I’ve been Apple computers for 20+ years. Only one PC that only runs a graphics setup for cutting vinyl and such (and it is the biggest PITA). Apple iPhones for 6 years (started at their release), dabbled with Android OS for a few years (only because I could hack the OS and disable the built in ‘tracking’ both from the OS but also the carrier software). I went back to Apple 4 years ago as I saw what was evolving on Android OS and the cross info sharing with apps. I know Android OS phones are less expensive, but it is entirely because of the information being gathered and sold without the user’s knowledge. Same for the freemium model of apps, but also the way apps are reviewed before going into either the Play store vs. the App store. You may not like the concrete wall ecosystem of Apple’s OSs or their pricing, but it is for a very good reason. They sell hardware, with secure (as it can be) software. iOS 14 gives you the granularity of sharing a single image or contact with an app, and super control of location and more. Facebook went so far to say this past summer that if their customer base figures out all the details of iOS 14 settings, it could cost them hundreds of millions of dollars in ad revenue. I’ll stop there. Happy to discuss off line.

I’m so sorry to hear of the hacking. I hope Verizon and PayPal are able to get the situation stopped and the funds recovered.

Wow, I thought only my Dad could shoot a picture of a dog that close! (when I was a kid, we had a golden retriever, and my Dad got a great closeup of him barking. He was inside a fence so there was no damage done. The dog wasn't being mean, as I recall, it was just a "GET THAT THING OUTTA MY FACE, WISEGUY" bark).

    Tallow + Steel Kyoto~~Thäter 4125/2~~WR2-OC/Feather
Have to say, it was great hearing from Fuzzy @wchnu he is
    sorely missed around here.
The WR2 tolerances are extremely tight. Zero play.
Consequences of such precision, is that after the shave, it is challenging separating the top cap from the base plate.
Day two with the Feather blade and it performed as expected.
The T+S Kyoto shave soap has a wonderful, Asian citrus scent.
Fruitier than one expects from a lemon or a lime.
    The Thäter fan knot is always a joy to use. Just dense enough for excellent backbone;
but not so dense, that it becomes stingy with the lather.
Three days in a row shaving ATG on my lower neck, and I am no worse for wear.
Cleaned off the soap with some witch hazel and finished with some Santa Maria Novella Patchouli AS.

Joe, that’s a nightmare. A friend has his Apple account hacked via his phone, it was a lot of aggravation and time getting it straightened out.

The watch is a stainless model with a black face, a nice watch indeed. It was a used model in a pawn shop, I was surprised they refused to negotiate. Their price is ok but not great given they don’t have the original box and papers. I can wait them out.

Great shave with the Red Tip. I really enjoy this brush and the weight of the handle. Haven't been able to find the MS 2 Band Finest knot for some time. it is a great knot.

It is a very big PITA. Wifey and I had to each sign our names back then 378 times for 126 transactions, took us weeks to get sorted.

My daughter had her school iPad account hacked, which backed to her Apple account, which allowed purchases. We now use Apple gift cards on school devices.

Obviously any OS or phone/tablet/computer or app/email account can be compromised. You have to use all the password complexity options (length, character, symbols, numbers variations available), add 2FA every where possible. A pain, but what one is trying to do is make it so a person getting after your information moves to an easier target.

    Thank You.
With today I've officially finished my OC razors.
Actually, I do not use them normally in my daily shave.
Specially that french bastard ... the (un)Famex.
Yesterday I forget to post the SOTD. It remained to wait for me.
The forum system works very nicely. It loves OCtober.

    Good morning!

Rough shave. Pass one, harsh. I stopped after the first stroke to take a quick look at the razor, all looked fine so I continued, thinking the blade had fallen off a cliff since yesterday's shave. Between passes one and two I put my cheaters on to examine the razor more closely. All looked fine. I did take notice of the large gap this razor has, hadn't noticed that before. Lathered my face for pass two. The lather may be a little on the dry side so I painted more water in hoping I found the culprit. Going against the grain I could feel the blade chattering and flexing. Time to stop and reassess the razor. I use nylon washers between the baseplate and the handle on my razors. If the nylon washer is placed between the blade and the baseplate you end up with a huge gap and an unsupported blade. Bonehead move of the day. Shave completed without incident. The first pass and a half did produce a couple of weepers and corresponding hot spots from the alum. I hope you all do better.

    Have a great day!
