If your carrier has the option to subscribe to SCAM text message/phone call filtering, do it. If your carrier doesn't...and you don't recognize the number, voicemail. If you want to go further, look into apps like Youmail or an app that can do phone level filtering.

Thank you, Blair! I assume if I had actually answered the call and pressed 1 as suggested, it would have led to some hacking attempt or scam. Apple doesn't call in my experience.

Given enough time anything can be compromised. Your tip about password complexity is extremely important along with 2 factor authentication where available. The trick is to make the crook move on and pick an easier target rather than spend the time on you.

Today is a travel shave and Tabac came along for the ride. What a wonderfully easy soap to lather, hence being a great choice for the travel kit. I am back in my great home state of Alabama visiting and helping my Mom again while my stepdad is still in the hospital.

2 easy passes with the Schick E2 and Tabac goodness this morning provided a very comfortable near BBS result with no mishaps.

No Apple does not call. I will add neither does the IRS or Social Security. You would not believe the number of people that fall for these two scams. Like @b1hart said, screen the calls and use the phones built in scam filters. I actually use Robokiller to filter my calls further.
