How about crochet or knitting to keep the hands busy? I am trying to think about what I did back then... but it probably involved yelling at middle school kids, blowing things up on the computer, and making Rube Goldberg electronics...

yeah, I thought of that after I was finished...actually, I hadn't originally intended to change the name of the plant, too, so that's why it doesn't make sense.
I also had envisioned attributing a username to several of the people, but my motivation to do so took a dump....
