    Today’s shave was excellent. I broke out my first straight razor, the Dovo Special. This was the razor that caused me to shy away from straight razor shaving for five years. I’m glad I returned, and have really enjoyed my shaves since. The mug shave was smooth and velveteen, as was my dome shave with my Christopher Bradley razor from Karve Shaving. I didn’t get to post this because this morning I went on a long bike ride, and this afternoon played a round of pickle ball with my bride. In any case I feel cool, smooth and refreshed.

    RAZOR: Dovo Special 5/8 (Mug), Karve Razor w/ Wide-body Cap D-OC Plate (Dome)
    BLADE: Sharp Star (1)
    PREP: Cold water rinse followed by Argan Oil
    BRUSH: Rooney Ebony Pure Badger
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat w/ 6 drops of M-Bomb
    POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Humphreys Lilac WH and Osage Rub. Finished with A&E Post-Shave Serum.

    Excellent shaves Jeff! The Dovo Special was my very first straight razor too. I bought it because it waa a beautiful razor and it fit the specs for a beginner to use. Enjoy the rest of your day.

    Great shave, Jeff! Sounds like a fun day (I had to look up Pickleball though). According to Wikipedia: In the United States, the game has exploded in popularity in senior citizen communities and nursing homes.

    My LEA shaving soap in a bowl and aftershave arrived today. The soap in a non tallow base with Sandalwood & Moss scent. Lots of good additives in the soap and aftershave such as lanolin, bisabolol and allantoin which should make for a great skin feel. Plus both have a touch of menthol. I need to decide if I bench MWF and sub the LEA.

    Saturday 10/10/2020 Shave of the day. Today's shave was very enjoyable for a change. whipped up a great lather in my crystal bowl with the proraso green. finished off the shave with the vintage aqua velva. since I wore the Creed Aventus today (which is very natural smelling) I decided to use the vintage AV since it's more natural smelling over the modern. I wanted to keep things consistent for a change. Today was my first use of aventus going out, It's a very personal and preve scent compared to my other loud designer scents, which honestly I like having more personal connected scents over the typical loud and obnoxious scents IMHO, sometimes. I got very nice whiffs of it through out the day, and stays closer to the skin around the 4 hour mark. However the first few hours are relatively loud as far as projection goes, but stays very pleasant. Hope Ya'll enjoyed your Saturday. Got an early morning for church tomorrow. I Have been listening to some other songs lately to listen to when I go out running this is just one of them. Lord Huron is a new favorite artist of mine. IMG_20201010_180201.jpg
