Zingari Man AS & RS - The Soloist
    Zingari Man ASB - unscented
    Riga Razor
Darwin 2 band badger - 'Drake Certified'

Fun shave today, tons of slick aromatic lather from 'The Soloist', a WCS exclusive homage fragrance collaborated with Zingari Man (Heather Melton). The Darwin is a neglected brush, my first quality badger purchase inspired by @Keithmax. Early on, I didn't quite have the lather creation routine & recipe perfected for the desired yogurty blend/sheen with badgers, so I leaned towards boar brush options, then synthetics. Now, it doesn't matter...any brush gets great results as long as I'm caffeinated & paying attention. 2.5 passes with a scary sharp 7/8 Riga razor. Both it's blade and scales are polished to a mirror....look at it wrong and it needs wiping again for a mug shot. No crimson issues, BBS- results. Couple squirts of ZM's after shave balm followed with the soap's matching fragrance recovery splash, and I'm ready for a relaxed but slow working Monday.

West Coast Shaving's scent description: An homage to Jazz Club by Maison Martin Margiela. This aroma was created specifically for West Coast Shaving. With notes of pink pepper, rum, & tobacco, it has a fragrance that would waft around a spotlit trio of muted trumpet, trap set, and tinkling keys while darkened figures sway in the shadows. Up to the mic steps a bedazzled vocalist. Meet The Soloist.

Wifey super approved fragrance....it's a perfect balance of each ingredient to my nose, not so complex that one gets highlighted over another.

Hope everyone has a Magnificent Monday!

How are you Gary? That pesky area just below my right ear and the jawline there is tough to negotiate. But I'm getting there.

No offense taken. That wasn't a "YEOOW" nick, but the redness somehow entered. For me, the famous "technique trumps tools" is the way to solve this. Just going slower over the real sensitive areas. Would like to hear your commentary, though.

Charlie, I recall seeing that once before. Did you move it from it's original location and rubber-stamp the baby(sorry babies)into here?

    Seaforth!~~dubl duck #4~~WR2/Sharp Star~~Seaforth! Spiced Lime
No work today, so I am doing some home maintenance.
Not really "fixing" things, but attending to chores that don't happen daily.
However, since shaving happens most everyday, it might as well be a good one.
Today was a mix of vintage, modern and getting harder and harder to find.
For the vintage, we have the dubl duck #4, the Seaforth! soap and aftershave.
For the modern, we continue our primary focus using the Wolfman WR2 OC.
For the difficult to find, the Sharp Star razor blade.
Update: Just got 50 more of these babies for just less than $20 shipped!

They are the best Russian steel I have ever used.
The dd #4 went to work on the über-dried-out Seaforth! shave soap.
    Did I bloom or did I not...:signs002:
    Hint: only the Shadow knows...:signs136:
The Omega knot has finally decided to give up its stench, and all that remains is a slightly
    porcine aroma.
    Great results with the wolfman1.jpg
And what was really refreshing, was the ATG neck pass.
Whereas yesterday's Feather was "toothy", the Sharp Star was super-smooooooooooth.
    Baby was caught.
Seaforth! Spiced Lime, which gives vintage Old Spice Lime a serious run for its money,
    really delivered. Another great juice.

Danny and I blame the kid. Course that doesn't mean WE aren't kids, but I'll let that baby go.

Thank you for asking. I know that you are a big fan of the Gillette disposable razors and I won't try to change your mind. I use one on the back of my neck in the shower. IMO, they require...almost demand pressure to remove the hair. So when your shave report states that you missed a spot on "cactus nation", I think, "ok, Paul is reducing the pressure, which everyone suggests he do". However, the razor misses stubble. It's a paradox with this type of razor.
Again, this is just my opinion, but part of me feels you would be better served to perform MORE passes with the reduced pressure. This'll mean loading more lather, but the trade off could result in a closer shave with less nicks.
