It was, but y'know-after applying the aftershave, I find that the scent of the soap is stronger than that of the aftershave. That's why I say more aftershave is needed after a 3-passer(some advice which I think YOU gave me).

A day late for MonoBilt Monday as I didn't shave yesterday. Besides the OC, I'm completely unfocussed it appears. The PAA soap in the CK6 base is really a quality product and the splash is nice and long-lasting. I've heard Et Tu is discontinued now. That's ok, I have lots.
The 3 pass'er was very nice. I know the MonoBilt is hit and miss for some, but it is a top shaver for me. A little left on the lower right neck is all that is stopping me from being completely smooth. I didn't really chase it or buff at all, regardless.
    Have a great day all!

Very nice, Keith. I dropped the Alum too...right into the circular file. :happy088:. I have tried a few times to incorporate it into the routine, but I'm just not a fan. Not a straight razor user obviously, though.

A great sounding shave with some neat gear, Barry. I'm not a fan of the Ladas, and I'd send you the tucks that I have, but I suspect the shipping isn't worth it for a very inexpensive blade.

Love the GLSq as well, Joe. The brush and bowl look fantastic. Maple and Walnut is such a classic combo. Your props lately have been really cool as well.

Just beautiful, Jim. I checked out that soap base in a store in Calgary last year. It was their Duc du Santal (Sp?) not the C&C, but I was surprised how soft it was for a 3X milled soap. Is that similar to yours?

Always love seeing some of your unique gear, Pierpaolo. Today is another new soap brand I'm unfamiliar with. A favourite? Btw- I see your Goodfellas soap you post on is now available from a Canadian vendor.

    Razor: Segal
    Blade: Modified Rapira Platinum Lux
Brush: Wild West Brushworks 30mm Tuxedo
SS & AS: Stirling Pumpkin Spice

The Segal is a unique razor for sure, but it's a good shaver. It wasn't difficult to modify a DE blade to fit the Segal using cuticle scissors, but It would get old if done more than a few times a year. I'm hoping I can get 4 shaves out of each blade, and I may switch to blades known for long life.

The shave was an easy 2+ passes to a DFS finish. No drama, nicks, cuts, or irritation, at all. I almost passed on the alum thinking I didn't need it, but I am still carrying some slight irritation from the bad blade I used a couple of days ago.

Sounds like a great start to a tough day, Clint. Interesting comments on the LEA. I've heard good things about the soap, especially the stick, but not much about the splash. Sounds like the splash is a quality product.

My HeV is the same. Doesn't take much effort to leave a thumbprint. Not what I would think as a triple milled soap.

A very informative post, Jeff. You made a very good point about the Valet lasting 42 years. It is amazing how long some designs truly lasted. The Gillette Tech was from the 30s to the 70s as well. The GEM/Everready basic design was about the same length. Even the OT head lasted for nearly 20 years.

I am finding if I use more prep OR the right soaps I CAN use the ATT S2 open comb daily. Not all soaps, but Taconic, Razorock sticks, MWF are among the ones that work without prep. Otherwise some pre shave left to soften first.
So a weekend of 2pass DFS and BBS last night for work this AM.

Tonight I'm using the PAA Ascension again. I find that one harsh if used daily.
    Taconic Mint+hemp oil.
Chubby Scrubby boar brush is still giveth the lather then taketh it away, but will keep with it as I guess it's still breaking in for awhile. It just requires a reup of soap stick on the third pass.
With my RR Monster Synthetic I could probably get four+ re lathers.

Soaking in hair conditioner did nothing for the brush as far as I can tell BTW.

Some very unique software today, Danny. The soap sounds amazing. The graphics are interesting- I know it is a classic statue, but I don't think I'd even pound stuff on an anvil completely nude...that could end very poorly...:scared003:

Great job on the blade, Evan. The Segal is a very nice looking razor for sure. The blades that fit it do come up once in a while on the Bay as well.

    Thank You, Jason.

This is a ghost brand, from a friend into ilRasoio forum.
Yes, IMHO G&G Grooming is a great soap with an oustanding fragrance.

Goodfellas is the italian RazoRock, with its own line of products. Both hardware and software.
I like them, good value on the cheap side.

Glad to hear the razor is a fave, Joseph. It would be a bummer if it wasn't at that price point. That being said, you could turn around and sell if for what you paid for it in minutes.

What a great photo with a cool effect, Blair. The Riga and Disco brush are a neat combo for sure. Reminds me of some of @Norcalnewb 's effects for sure.
