You are welcome. I think you will really enjoy it. They also have different flavors. The leather is very tempting.

Great shave, Evan! Your Segal is in great shape! Mine is pretty beat up. I agree that adapting a modern DE blade is a pain. That’s why I like Suneko blades in mine. They are the modern equivalent of Personna 74’s and I can easily get up to 10 shaves.

I think that’s one of the reasons I like vintage safety and straight razors so much, Jason! They're time-tested and proven. I particularly like using some of my old cast steel Sheffield straights that are close to 200 yrs old. It’s fun and awesome to imagine that I may be a 9th or 10th generation user of the razor, figuring 20 yrs per generation. Even figuring longer use in some cases it’s still probably at least 7 generations!

Yes, a nick is a deeper wound then a weep/cryer. Nicks happen when you cut into your skin because the angle of the blade is too steep. Weeps/cryers are more like abrasions on the top layer of the skin where the angle of the blade is shallow and too much pressure is placed on the skin. Hope that gives you a better explanation of the difference between the two wounds.
