I was just looking on Amazon a couple weeks ago for the old Piranha movie on DVD, found some copies, for a ridiculously high price, does not appear to be an "official" release, though I could be wrong, but I'll still wait anyway...

...and then I find this today...I was not aware they were making a Piranha remake? and in 3D! Oooooh...that'll sell the tickets, eh?
    Still, I'm sure I'll watch it :D

Joosteen, I stumbled across this today, maybe something worth giving a whirl. If I have my BT adapter here at work, I may try it later myself.

I made the gallery! Didn't win, but still, I made the list!

Now I'm kind of torn. I'm seriously thinking of giving up on all the gawker sites because of this whole iPhone thing... they didn't exactly handle things 100% ethically. It sucks though, because I'm pretty addicted to io9 and lifehacker.

    Schweet! Good job, congrats!

Yeah, I don't like that they went so extensive with it. But, they didn't steal the dang phone - granted, they bought a lost phone, but the guy supposedly tried to return it to Apple several times.
Still, they could've just posted a couple of pictures, enough to say "Neener Neener" to Apple.

A big, convoluted thing that Apple's gonna blow way out of proportion, Gizmodo's gonna minimalize out of proportion, and the guy that left the phone is gonna lose all his portions (sorry, the preacher_mode in me has to have 3 points, with bonus points to make them all rhyme or have the same initials :D)

On the other hand, in looking for alternatives to gawker media sites, I did find this site, which is pretty cool.

nope.... he comes close to making a point and then backtracks a few times. I think his main idea is that

    1) South Park is an awful show
    2) South Park is a great show for challenging norms
    3) South Park crossed the line
    4) the line should never have been drawn
    5) there should be many lines in place
    6) we are all scared to draw a line in the sand so we are drawing a line in the sand on this issue
    7) we are all seriously f'd up.

And the pic you just posted... that is how I see the pantless Jim in my mind's eye.

No denser than I my friend, being an English major, I've read some of the most cryptic pieces of literature created but couldn't make heads or tails out of that. I do find it a sickening irony that in a country founded on Judeo-Christian beliefs that is predominantly Christian, that Jesus Christ and the sensitivities of the Christian majority are not afforded any deference but deference to Mohammed is mandated and institutionalized. The Greatest Generation is undoubtedly rolling over in its collective graves at the thought that we as a nation have so easily tucked tail and wet the rug at such threats from a bunch of zealots. Whatever happened to freedom of speech? Oh yeah, that was in that document our leaders and our society no longer care about. What is it called again...oh yeah, the Constitution.

On a personal level, I enjoy shock comedy but think there are some things that should be no go zones. Having said that though, why the hell does freedom of speech apply to a church group defiling the funeral of a fallen hero or the right of your government to finance the creation of a work of art called "Piss Christ" but not some stupid humor featuring Mohammed in a bear suit? I guess you're in the clear as long as you're disgracing something Christian and American but otherwise you're just being an offensive jack ass racist. It's a crazy world we live in folks. I'm often questioned as to why many of the things I love most come from a time I wasn't around to see. Buffoonery like this is a convenient answer.

Very similar, but much more elaborate and eloquent, than the statements I made after that episode's publicity.

It's ridiculous how cowardly we, as the rest of the entire world, bow down to the wishes of these cowards.

Jesus Christ gets mocked - Christians, myself included, don't like it. We'll change the channel, ignore it, make a decision whether or not to be a supporter of the offender's work anymore, etc. But we rationally recognize that such was the decision of the person to be so profane.

Same goes for the other religious figures that such as South Park make fun of.
Hey, so they don't agree. They're not forcing their beliefs down our throats, they're merely offering their creative work for entertainment.

As for the majority of the religious groups, their members are not forcing you to accept their beliefs.
Providing their accounts and experiences, hoping you'll see what they have to offer: yes.
Forcing you to accept it: no.

Some who do not believe in God try to argue the "separation of church and state" baloney, and try and say that it "forces" them into accepting and believing in God. Short answer: No, it does not, at all.

But the extreme that we've gotten to, not just in America, but all around the world, to bow down to the wishes of these radical extremists and their hateful threats and actions, is sickening. And that's what I take that article to be meaning.

I may be off-base, but that's how I read it - though I may be slightly skewed in my interpretation seeing as how that's my exact feelings, too.

On one hand, I see us as a planet that thoroughly despises the threats/acts of terrorism that that mindset is capable of producing, and want the world rid of it (it could be argued not the religion of Islam, just the extreme radicals of it), and yet back down to their whims and threats when they occur, as was the case here.

On the other hand, however, I don't like what I'm seeing, however I am comforted by the faith and conviction that A) it wouldn't be happening if God didn't allow it, and B) these events and developments do nothing but PROVE the Bible's prophecies.

The author didn't go that far (I did, though, so we're covered), but I believe his intent was the irony that we don't like the threats of these radicals, but then step and let them have their way.

Again, as I mentioned before, it is exactly for that reason that I will not watch 2012, as the scenes planned for showing the destruction of Muslim buildings, etc., were cut because of Muslim threats.
However, everything else on the planet is destroyed.

Whoa...better slow down, soap box is higher than it appears....

Exactly, everything I tried to say, but much more concise and well spake.
