October 30 Day/Rule Focus Pix & Discussion

You and your Bride will love retirement, Jim. I imagine you both have things in mind for fun and to keep as busy as you want to be. You won't have any second thoughts, you'll sleep better not having to worry about work stuff, and you'll feel better. And it ain't bad to get up in the morning and not feel like Dagwood Bumstead trying to rush out the door. That's a fact.

We've got half-dozen trips in various planning stages, and we can't wait to get back to our sweet kids at the hospital. I think about those kids every day, and I really miss them.

I have a good friend that retired from our maintenance shop. He contracted back with the company for awhile, but he told me the other day that he was finally done. He will now have more time to spend with his family and his farm. He was really happy about that.

A really nice side-by-side of two beautiful razors. If we could only understand what they're saying to each other.

Karve: "Hey bub, whatcha doin' here? I thought I was doin' a good job taking care of the old man's whiskers. Yeah, he's el-nutso alright, but I only have to work a couple days a month. The rest of the time I just lay around and look shiny. He's got a stinkin' bucket full o' razors! I hope you're not here to cause trouble. We take care of our own here, bird boy. Get it?"

Bird: "No worries, pal. I ain't gonna be here long. My old man gets a little crazy in April and October. Throws fits, talks to himself, stomps around a little bit...he even takes pictures of us out in the yard. A bucket full of razors? Man, that's nothin', and the UPS trucks just keep rollin' in. He a piece of work, know what I mean? I'm just glad to bust out for a few weeks to get some peace and quiet."

Karve: "Just watch your step."

Bird: "Hey bro. We're cool. Mos def."

Sounds good, Jeff. We're completing absentee ballots for the first time this year for the same reason.

 

I briefly considered an Old Fashioned, but I ended up having a shot of Russell's Reserve neat. It's not something I do very often, but it was a nice change of pace. I'm almost finished with the Russell's. Next up will be Four Roses Single Barrell. That one is probably my favorite.

 

We may not know the outcome of this election till next year.

Cool hardware and setup Danny. That label art looks like an accident waiting to happen.... I’ve turned our local Big Lots (I think that’s where you mentioned you found it) inside out looking for that American Tobacco AS. Very cool!

Agreed, but at least I’ll avoid the craziness on Election Day! I can’t remember this level f vitriol ever! Both sides will be having their own poll watchers, a wonderful recipe for unpleasant things!

Great thoughts and report David! I’ve never done anything special for boar brushes. A shampoo wash or two, a couple of heavier fragranced shaving soap lathers...call it ready. Just the Omega boar still had a faint ‘new’ smell left. Never with a Zenith.
