Happy Hump Day!!! Back to the Mitchell's Wool Fat. I did a better job loading and lathering today but still not up to last week's results. The MWF is certainly more picky about lathering than the LEA. Three passes and touch ups ended in a drama free BBS shave. A splash of Dominica Grand Bay Rum aftershave and I am ready for another day working with taxes. With luck we can be productive today and knock most of the stuff out. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.

Fine shave this morning. I must say, I put together everyone's comments from yesterday and before about nicks, cuts, weepers, etc. I decided to do two passes, and it all went very well. 0:35 to load the thick Central Texas Soap onto the Crown King brush. The thicker the soap, the better for me, I think. The first pass ended up in its "more-often-than not" way of being a little too wet-in fact I did another very quick load in the middle of the pass to get it somewhat thicker, stronger. This soap spreads with comfort and ease...tells me the shave is going to be great, so long as I am careful. First pass was pain/discomfort-free. Special care along the edges of North Porcupine Alley. Second pass was a clone of the first, except I did see some redness at the aforementioned NPA area. No pain, it just showed up. . I didn't panic, just continued on-good cold water rinse at the end, which knocked out the redness. I didn't use much of the Aqua Velva at the end, but only to avoid another Niagara Falls situation. Still the scent came through well enough. Two passes may indeed be the best way for me. Maybe I'll do an "occasional" 3rd once in a while, but I know I'll need to really splash on that A.S. then, which might clear every area I walk in throughout the day(course I wouldn't want THAT).. Top Of The World Excellent.

    Good morning all.
Thought I'd chime in on a razor pass around I got lucky enough to be part of.
    The DE-Vette.
It's basically a shavette with a sideways handle.
No safety bar of any sort, just blade.
I used it for the first time today.
    Oh what a shave!

If not for the things I've read here about technique that improved mine.
    I never would've tried it.
Thanks to all who post here!

    New feather blade.
    3 passes head and face.
    No issues, none!

    This could be love....

    Enjoy!

Thanks, Clint! I guess I’m a vintage guy at heart! I have three vintage Japanese Silver Steel razors, and three cast steel Sheffield razors two of which are close to 200 yrs old that I prefer to shave with.

Hi Gary, thanks. The only problem I felt was that I should have added a bit more aftershave, but with Aqua Velva you have to be careful. How's your day going?
