That's a cool razor, Terry, and I'm glad you're cruising along with it.

I agree with what you said about technique. Many folks would shy away from such a razor, but a lot of guys here view it as just another blade holder.

Nice addition to the den, Gary. I look forward to your impresssions.

I have an unscented puck of MdC. When I start using it, I may scent the lather with whatever cologne or aftershave I'm using that day.

Great shave Charlie and that shave just needed a few cookies to be over the top! So thankful about Kathy's progress. Enjoy the beautiful day!

To be quite honest, my tastes have changed and are continuing to change since I’ve begun straight shaving. I’d happily shave with Nancy Boy Signature till the cows come home followed by MWF, Castle Forbes (lavender or Lime), Lush Prince and Haslinger Schafmilch. In all honesty, probably the slickest straight shaving lathers are Cremo Original and Headblade Slick. Glide has turned out to be the key characteristic I look for now over just about anything else.

Great Mongoose shave, Charlie! Is it true that after Classic Shaving introduced the original Cobra AC safety razor, the owner and designer of your AC safety razor named it ‘Mongoose’ because given the original Cobra’s popularity, it was supposed to be a ‘Cobra’ killer?

I think I got you all....

    Thanks Gary!
    Yea....
A razor blade, on a stick.....
    Lol!

    Thanks!
Yes it is a great shaver Jeff.
    At least to me anyway.
    Kevlar whiskers...lol!

    Thanks Joseph!
You know I'm learning every day.

    Thanks Clint!
I can assure you I am not a brave man.
Just confident in my abilities, from the den school of shaving.

    Thanks Danny!
    Oh sure you are!
    If I can use it...
    Anyone can!

    Thanks Joe!
Yes I have, my technique has flowered over time.
Only a short time ago I thought Feather blades were scary little shards of steel.
Now there my daily go to blade.
    Funny huh?

    Thanks Patrick!

    Thanks Jason!
No mayhem, just pure shave nirvana.
    And some shaving zen.
    I'm still a greenhorn here!

    Yes thanks Charlie!
It really is just another blade holder.
    My philosophy is that;
    Aggression is in the hand.
    Efficiency is in the razor.
If "your" not aggressive, then you've got it pretty well down.
It took me a while to figure that one out too.
This is not an aggressive razor, but it is in a small class of great high efficient razors.
Oh, and the feather blade, well just another blade.
But it does mow down the whiskers quit nicely.
If I do say so myself.

    On the subject of feathers.
I found a great deal on them.
    Got another 1000 coming soon.
One blade one shave, they go fast.
    Well......
    Thanks again!

I know I'm not joining in much here.
    To many posts!
But I try to show that even a novice wet shaver like me can enjoy any razor you please.
So long as you practice good techniques.
Oh I'm sure I'll cut or nick myself, but I'm still confident in what I've learned here.
    Thanks everyone!

    Enjoy!

Congrats Myles. I'm really proud of you, and I thank you in advance for serving our country in the Marines. It's a high calling, and you have my sincere respect. I'll be praying for your safety and wisdom in the days ahead.

I had to look up a couple of things in your post, but it gave me a decent idea of your proposed assignment. My Dad was a company baker in the Army, and he also supported a three-man machine gun unit. He served in the Aleutian Islands during WWII, and I hope to go there some day. I wish I knew more about his exact assignment. My sister has some of his Army mementos, so I will have to get it from her and see what I can learn. I know she has some of his Army cookbooks. If I ever need a baking recipe that serves 250 men, I'm set. That is seriously how the recipes were written.

We toured a WWII era Navy ship and submarine earlier this year, and I was intrigued with the operation of the galley and how 2500 sailors were fed each day. These photos focus on two of my favorite subjects, coffee and ice cream. :)

I have been eyeballing this titanium handle on Aliexpress for a while. It is amazing what a few discounts and coupons will do. I had to bite.

I really like the guilloche pattern on the handle.....reminds me of another razor handle I have in brass. :signs002: 20201014_154511.jpg

Outstanding setup and picture, Clint! I was really hoping that LEA set would be a good performer. I've really enjoyed all of their products I have, and I will now most likely get the wooden bowl and aftershave set. :happy088:
