Very interesting history on the pepper sauces. I am not a connoisseur by any means, and I'm not the guy with a refrigerator full of different ones. My entry into hot sauces a few years ago was Frank's RedHot. I tried a couple of non-Louisiana based brands that did not agree with me. The last couple of bottles have been Louisiana, and it is much better. I'll try Tabasco next for comparison as it has been awhile since I've had it. A lot of the seafood places in Pensacola had Crystal on the table, and that's where I became introduced to it. They seemed to take their condiments seriously at the place where we got our fresh shrimp:

I have the Aqua Velva Ice Blue. It's a nice, pleasant scent that wouldn't offend anyone because it doesn't last long. Imho, it really goes with most soaps.

Oh....I’m familiar with hot sauce aisles like that.

The ones worth buying we’ve mentioned, it’s a taste preference. Others you’d find in most southern Louisiana homes would be Tony Chachere’s and Zatarain’s.

Texans (but not only) like to talk about hot sauces or peppers, but usually in a reference to Tex Mex concoctions, pico de gallo & the like. But, most just get a sensation that burns...which really isn’t the point, or enjoyable for me. It’s hot (or some say spicy) taste....not burn. IMO there’s a difference.

Agreed, Andrew. In addition to being a great doctor, he's a mess. He dresses up for Halloween each year. He never tells anyone ahead of time what his costume will be. This was last year. Very fitting for a blood doctor.
