Very nice, Doug. I agree with your assessment of APShaveCo knots in general. I have used many of their synthetics and one of their mixed knots. All are quality. I have one of their Gelousy badgers inbound as well.

I'm like Pavlov's dog when Arko or Clubman (or Arko AND Clubman :shocked029:) get a plug on here, Barry. Its what I do, I suppose. Arko is a good, easy lather, but all scent jokes aside I do find it quite drying.

My sincere condolences on the loss for your family.

We're dealing with a very similar situation....Tuesday evening my wife's cousin's son, was lost in much the same way. He was 23, on a motorcycle, with a helmet. A non licensed, non registered immigrant driving a truck ran a red light (and fled the scene). My cousin's son was still in the intersection, as he had a green light. We don't know the toxicology results of the truck driver, don't know that we will. The PD was able to apprehend the driver about 20 hours after the fact with an investigation & review of cameras in the intersection and nearby businesses.

    Thursday's Shave
    #OCtober

    Gillette NEW LC
    Voskhod (3)
    WCS Beacon Synthetic
    LEA Shaving Soap Stick
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    LEA 0% Alcohol Aftershave

This morning, I decided to use the drugstore version of Clint's @clint64 LEA Classic setup. I love the scent of this soap and aftershave, but from the descriptions I've read of the Classic line, this must be different. This is a different product line (Sensitive) and is a very clean/fresh scent and is the same in the soap, AS and ASB. The 0% alcohol aftershave is unlike any other AS that I have. It goes on like a splash, but has the skin benefits of a balm. I used less today than I had the few times before and the sticky feel during drydown went away much faster.

2 passes with the Gillette NEW LC provided a very comfortable near BBS finish with no irritation or mishaps.

Gosh I enjoy OCtober. So many fave razors happen to be open combs. This Jaws is a fine shaver as well. The .68 version may not have a very wide sweet spot, but when you find it, it is a nice smooth shaver. You'd better like heavy razors with this handle, though. Heaviest in my den by far. Hadn't grabbed a GSB in awhile. 'Tis ok, but I prefer a few of its Gillette brothers by a smidge.
A nice lather with this locally made soap and 3 passes later I am fairly smooth. Left a little bit on the jawline it appears, but I really didn't even rub the neck or jawline after the 3rd pass to see how I did. Love the Reserve Cool. One of my faves and it will be a repurchase when it runs out. Looking forward to the newer versions without the bright blue dye, truth be told.
    Have a great day all!

Awesome combo, Andrew. Do you use a lot of no alcohol splashes? Over the years I have migrated to using only alcohol-based splashes, for whatever reason. I just prefer the feel (and burn, I suppose). I do use witch hazel before, though.

Thank you, Jason! This is my only 0% alcohol splash. Like you, I prefer traditional alcohol-based splashes. I added this one to my last Connaught order as it was inexpensive and I wanted to try a LEA aftershave to go with the soap sticks (no international shipping of alcohol splashes). I do not use balms often either, but like this aftershave, I see certain times I will benefit from using them.
