Another Shave with a lightweight Razor, after the 1914 & TNNSER the ER 1912. I find it hard to believe that anyone could have a poor Shave with this the last of the British 1912s, unless of course the blade is a duffer. Today, very smooth and comfortable with a nice close all round finish.

  2. I find it much the same, now that it is broken in well. I enjoy that it is still quite stiff for loading the soaps onto the bristles, and I agree that the tips are very soft while face lathering. It's a great little brush, especially for the price.

  3. Thank you Gary. The vacation and shaves have been great so far. We are home for a few days then heading back out. I'm trying to decide if I want to swap out razors or keep up with the BMMOC

  4. I really enjoy the Shovel Head. The blades @120inna55 recommended are a very good choice. As is the supplier @Ron R recommended. You can get them in small packs to start with. Look forward to hearing how you like the razor.

The Proraso Red Shaving Soap face-lathered well with Jayaruh #1 Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the 1907 Gem Jr. Lather Catcher razor with a Personna GEM SS PTFE blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Granddad's Blend AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

  13. Darwin, Darwin wedge blade, shave 1
    dar1.jpg dar2.jpg

Razor on loan from @twhite aka Doctor S. Evil, the s is for shave. I used the Autostrop strop to prepare blade with 100 passes on each side. I don't know how far you can adjust the blade but it had plenty of feedback but not overly aggressive. Not the closest shave I've had but certainly the best one so far using a wedge blade in a razor. I am going to adjust the screw to give it some more gap on the next shave.

  14. It will give even a better shave if I had honed them now compared to my ability 2 or 3 years ago.

  15. The blade seems pretty good right now. The blade I used was the one in the handle. Before I send it back I want to get one of those wedge blade adaptors and see how a standard gem works in this razor as long as it can hold the adaptor snug. I'll also try this wedge blade in my Yankee if it fits.

  16. Well scrap that idea the blade is too narrow and doesn't fit snuggly in the tabs same with using a wedge adaptor for this razor.
