I hope this little tutorial helps anyone reknotting a Rubberset 400. Started out with a Omega 10065 boar brush. I then ground the yellow handle down to the black ferrule. I removed the black ferrule/knot from the yellow handle. Next, grind this lip from the ferrule. Take a dremal type tool and grind these three or four tabs from the Rubberset 400 ferrule. The next step is to grind the back side of the knot ferrule so the 400 ferrule will tighten down on the handle. I ground this one down almost to the glue because I was going to silicone the knot to the ferrule. I then found out by adding a quarter inch fender washer the knot would lock down and not require any glue. You should be able to accomplish the same thing by not grinding the back side of the knot down as much. A washer will then not be needed. The knot will now slide up all the way into the ferrule. Make a paper funnel to get the knot through the ferrule. That is pretty much the way I mounted this one. Before and after pictures. She is purdy especially after the first lathering. Hope this is informative and helps out.
