Thanks, Karl. I’m fortunate to have a son with a huge jnat collection. This razor was one of his display razors I convinced him to part with. He put an incredibly smooth buttery edge on it.
Razormaker is unknown to me CH R. It's about 6/8 and wedge. The other side says suedois. Finishing stone is coticule la veinette. Cade l'occitane shaving soap Zenith boar brush
Yes. I know I think that's a reference that swedish steel is used. But if the razor is french or swedish I don't know. It's a wedge and silent and gave me a good shave. The thickness of the spine varies in accordance of the width of the blade. I used one layer of tape and took extra care if the bevel was set on a naniwa professional stone 1000.

The razor is French, but the steel may not be of Swedish origin. I think one of the o,d razor experts maybe Science Guy or Zak Jarvis maintained that the word ‘Suedois’ meant that it was made in the Swedish style of the time, IOW a frameback. Regardless, these old French razors are usually exceptionally good shavers! Yesterday, Filly 14 Novodur user, and MdC rose with a little Myrsol Plastic Shave finishing up, today, just a Gold Dollar testing the back of a hone that I flattened a little to get it to sit better, but why not hone on it?

Henckels Friodur 14, SMN Pre-Dopo Barba and cream lathered with a two-band Life2short1971 Rooney copy, and some Myrsol Agua Balsamica topped off a BDBS shave.
The le grelot frameback is called a swedish razor. I'm not sure if the frameback is a swedish invention or invented by rameau sens. I googled a bit https://sharprazorpalace.com/razor-clubs/16029-svenskt-stal-swedish-steel-22.html On the top a chr raben is mentioned from Uppsala. Further googling shows that it was an instrument shop (barometers etc). So it could be. But besides some jernbolaget razors I have seen few swedish wedges.
Been too busy to post, hopefully I can be regular poster again. Koraat 7/8 with a 3/4 grind in his 'splash' finish. Takehana Feon 172
13/16 Rugby, the hollow one, cream, balm, and EdT were Dior Eau Sauvage, and a Keyhole 3 did the lathering. And I am BDBS!
