I'm in for another 30 day rule as we dont see many on here lately. I will be using the Rockwell 6c on plate 6 ( that's 9 upside down) and exclusively Rockwell blades . The rest of the gear will be a crap shoot .
Like the Barber’s notch on your razor! How old is it! The Curvature from the heel would seem to indicate mid 19th Century. I’m probably wrong, but my two mid 19th century Sheffields feature that same curvature.
I'm surprised he wasn't smoking a cigarette while he sang that. Oh, maybe I'm talkinabout his kid(SD Jr).
Awesome focus/rule Patrick! I get great shaves with the Rockwell 6C using the most aggressive #6 plate throughout my entire shave. The Rockwell blades work well for me whether I use them in DE razors or shavettes. I would rate these blades between mild and aggressive. If I push it, then I could get about 8 shaves. However, I usually switch at 5 or 6 shaves. YMMY because your skin and beard type is different.
After seeing this here and there. I’m going to try this out. ( First Time ) Razor - Ikon Tech Blade Wilkinson Sword Saloon pack. Brush 24 mm 70/30 Badger & Boar Mix. Soap Fine American Blend. Aftershave Fine American Blend. Should be Interesting. I have only shaved once with the Ikon Tech. Didn’t go Well. . Time will tell. Sent from my iPhoneXR using Tapatalk
NOvember 1st RR Hawk V2 w Rosewood handle TGN Finest/ Maple Stirling Autumn Glory combo Thayers A quick 2 passer earlier today. Last month I made a handle for my aluminum V2 Hawk. I actually showed rare patience (for me, anyway) and held off giving it a go until OCtober was over. It is rosewood and worked out well enough for a first attempt at turning something like this. The finish isn’t good enough, so I’ll sand it out and do a thin 3rd coat. Don’t think I’ll keep it though. I usually make a turning for the TSD raffle and this razor seems like a good choice whenever that may be. The Autumn Glory was a good choice to go outside to change over the tires and rake leaves. Have a great day all!
Thanks, Jeff! Thank you, Clint! Performance wise it's up there with other top artisans. Scent wise it's Old Spice and Gunpowder. I like it although my nose doesn't really pick up the Gunpowder. Thanks, Joe! Beautiful sunny 62° day. Perfect for getting some work done. Welcome aboard, Cliff! Good luck with your Ikon Tech. I'm sure you'll have it dialed in before months end. Nice, Jason! Thanks Joe!! I'm on my second blade and find them pretty good so far. As with all blades I find it varies for amount of shaves , sometimes getting ten shaves and other times two.
