    Razor: 1948 British Gillette Aristocrat
    Bkade: Wilkinson Sword
    Brush: Simpson X3 Best Badger
SS & AS: Stirling Sharp Dressed Man

Finally I get to use this razor. It was well worth the wait as I can see why so many say it the finest razor Gillette made. The weight and balance is about perfect.

The shave was a 2+ pass BBS with a small weeper on my chin. Nothing worth mentioning really, but honesty is what honestly is. Alum did the trick.

I am use to much bigger knots on my brushes lately. I actually had to load a little more soap on my second pass.

I've done some plating this weekend and decided to check the pH on my nickel bath. It was a 6, but its suppose to be 3.5-5. So I added a couple teaspoons of boric acid and now it's at a 4.4. Plated a couple test items and the performance is right back where it was. Fun times.

  10. Well, for an ‘unbranded Chinese horsehair’, it is certainly a cool looking handle, Barry.
Sounds like the soap comparison is going well, Pierpaolo. I sure wish I got the T3 instead of the two T2s.
A very informative comparison of the two razor finishes, Jeff. The Old Type is always a good ideas as well.
Stunning, Gary. The brush is a fine match for the razor- awesome!
Nice to be back in the saddle, Joe.
Will follow your Pils mini-focus with interest, Clint. I’m sure it is just a matter of a few days until you conquer it again ( and until the MWF dries out...):)
