:) I have way way way too many favorites, but this RedTip has a slight advantage. I purchased it from Razor Emporium. It was a made to order plated in Rhodium. So, I'll be keeping it for a long time.

Of course, my son is 13 and starting to get that dark fuzz on his face which just looks pathetic and dirty. If anyone will get my one of my Rhodium razors, it will be my son. I have a Blue Tip and a FatBoy set aside for him, but he'll have to use them before I part with one of the nicer razors, while I'm alive.

I suppose a son-in-law may qualify for a nice razor, if I like them, but I don't have any sons-in-law yet and I really don't think I'll like ANY of them. :) One boy my 17 year old has been hanging out with didn't ask her out for several months because he was a little intimidated by me. I had to give him permission to ask her out. I admit he's found a small back door into a dark, dangerous waiting room, that may lead to me liking him... eventually, if he survives long enough. There's also that kid who was so intimidated by me when I answered the door that he couldn't tell me why he was there. It wasn't until my daughter heard him stuttering and came to the door that he said, "hhhheerrr...I'mmm hear to t-t-talk to her...". He was also a kid I liked... a little.

Anyway, I digress. Don't let that Red Tip set unused too long. You don't want it to forget how to shave.

Thanks, Gary. There isn't a brush in my den that I don't enjoy using. If it didn't, it would be long gone. (Some have found their way out of my den)

I think you are right Jason. A nice beehive handle would cost in the range of $50-60. When you add a boar knot you are around the price of the brush. I also think Thater hurt the outcome as well. I don't think they had good quality control on the knots. I saw reports of bristles turned the wrong way etc. I have spend a lot of time cutting out black bristles or prickly bristles from boar brushes.

Well, I can add my two cents. For $90, I expect a FANTASTIC boar knot, regardless from what manufacturer. Sadly, and I know my experience doesn't match everyone else's, my Thäter boar was a bust. For $28, you can get a terrific Mondial. Night and Day quality difference.

Too funny Evan. Many of the boys that have called on the girls are intimated by me. Asha told one not to worry about Dad. He asked if that meant I was easy. Her response, "No he's not easy but worry about me. If I don't like you your butt is gone no matter what he thinks. "

I love my Antica Barberia boar brush made by Mondial. It was around $28 shipped from Australia. My Thater boar has been fine. Much better than the gelled boar knot I used in the Heritage Dubl Duck hande.

Excellent shave Jason. Use that Unconditional Surrender sparingly.

    Thanks, Jason.
I love the scent of Hemingway Accoutrements. Now that the weather has cooled it will appear more often. It took me a couple of uses to figure it out as it's the only shave cream in the rotation but other than that, no issues at all. Great performer actually.

My son turns 14 next month. He also has that same pathetic looking sort-of-mustache. He wants to start shaving now, but I want him to wait a bit. He wants to use a safety razor and brush, he has never seen me use anything else. He is welcome to any of the razors I put aside for him and he knows he is also welcome to any one of my boar or synthetic brushes. It would probably be soon after that I turn one for him to his liking if he stays with it.
He also has claimed two of the watches I have refurbished and I have promised him my daily driver the day after I retire. He has to wait awhile for that one.

Two beautiful shaves Andrew. More importantly you were able to share a special moment in your son’s life.
