November 9th

Throwback and menthol Monday shave today. First straight razor purchased on my wet shaving journey. Rinsed off the oil, and took this boy on a stropping session. CrOx on linen followed by bridle leather. 2.5 very smooth low angle passes and I'm BBS smooth today. 1 pass was WTG, then a slight XTG pass, and another opposite XTG pass for the lower right neck/jawline. ZM's 'The Socialite' is a nicely mentholated lime and gin combo. Long working/driving weekend and needed a good wake up. Awesome thin slick lather slinging fun for the first pass, then whipped it like there's no tomorrow for the remainder. Turns into a nice thick yogurt that has a great wake me up aroma and face feel. Finished with the matching 'recovery splash', which just brings the menthol feel back full force. Still have the cool feel a good hour after the shave. Only drawback....this fragrance isn't wifey approved. I really like it though! Definitely a dry lime citrus aroma, wears thin about 2-3 hours into the day.

Second run with the Razorock Gamechanger Jaws 0.84. I think we are becoming buddies.

The Rubberset 400 with the Omega 10065 boar knot whipped up some very thick Figaro.....awesome lather this morning. Spending a little more time whipping up the lather is producing some great results.

Bruce with an Astra was smooth and efficient. After three quick passes I'd call this a BBS with no blood loss.

I have nicknamed the razor Bruce. Bruce was the name of the three animatronic sharks used in the first Jaws movie.

Finished the shave with some glorious stank.....thats right.....Pinaud Clubman Aftershave Lotion.

Good shave this morning. 0:30 for the loading of the Central Texas Soaps Down At The River. This particular soap is best used in warm weather, and that is exactly what is happening in the Boston area on this NOVEMBER 9. Anyway, enough from the Yippy Dippy Weatherman. The soap was nice and warm as I spread it across my face and neck. 2 passes. A couple small Knicks around each side of Porcupine Alley-I say small because they were gone at the end of the shave(presumably the cold-water rinse). Other than that, all went fine. The Across The Grain action at Cactus Nation(along the sides) was smooth. It leaves a little at the bottom, which I can deal with going south-to-north. Aqua Velva to finish it off. Most Excellent.
