Thanks Clint. I will hang on to your list for future reference, as I know you've evaluated quite a few different ones. I've been considering a new razor at some point. Lately, it has been the Karve. I am surprised (and glad) to see the Gillette NEWs on your list. I have both as well, and they are fantastic razors.

I hope your Friday is going well. May the deductions be aplenty and come easy for you today.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the kind words. We had a great time and nearly knocked out a large NY style all meat pizza. My Buddy was actually one of my first supervisors when I started my job in the 1980s. We've become close friends over the years. He collects antique wood planes and is an accomplished wood worker. His latest project was a cherry dining room set. He uses a CADD program to design his furniture, and he loves builds that involve figuring out complex angles.
    1.jpg

He showed me a wood plane that he uses in his shop that was made in the late 1700s. He's also made several wood planes, and he uses a set of stones to keep the ones he uses sharpened. He tells me that a properly tuned wood plane will shave arm hairs and is capable of removing a few thousandths of an inch of wood. Sounds almost like straight razor territory.

I told him about my brothers here that turn brush handles and even about this wing nut with a CNC machine. He's part of wood working community where some guys use only hand tools, other use only power tools, and where others use a combination of both. He even said some of the guys have built their own CNC machines. Very cool indeed.
Ok now, this is compelling. I'll study up on 4th grade math. I'm good on the screw and nut qualifications. :)

Thanks Paul. I'll chalk up the MA electoral votes for Karve. I've asked @clint64 for a recount in GA. I think Karve still has a chance there.

    (joking :))

And then when Clint finishes, I'm going to ask him to re-recount. :). Course it's easy to recount ELECTORAL, as opposed to POPULAR. Man, I should get off the polly-ticks. The name of the Stoylin Video Mystery Man is Leroy, but I still forget his screen-name.

I usually wear my Fred Flintstone Grand Poobah hat to the meet ups. It can get a little warm, but I manage to stay cool by eating plenty of ice cream.
