    Another real nice shave today. Same arsenal as yesterday. The Razorock Gold Shave Cream Soap built up a nice lather again. 0:30 at the loading dock for the Crown King brush to do its work on my face&neck. Good coverage resulted. Slower and softer strokes from the Sensor Deuce Pivot razor. A little stronger at the rough areas, but I still took it easy. I didn't feel the need to do an extra quick load, as I felt enough soap was on for me. 2 healthy passes. All areas look and feel good. Clubman Special Reserve A.S. again to finish. Out Of This World Excellent.

    Another drama free shave this morning. The Semogue boar did a wonderful job bowl lathering the TOBS cream. I did add a dropper full of B&M Terrorade to the mixture which provided a wonderful chill. Three passes and touch ups caught the little guy with ease. I need to decide my STOD for the upcoming week so I can take the photos today. I hope everyone has a great Sunday.

    The Merica is very well made. The tolerances and machining are first rate. The stone washed finish is very industrial and different from most other razors. The finish is really growing on me as well. The shave is very similar to a Karve D plate. There is very minimal blade feel with a wide sweet spot. The angle is easy to find and maintain. In this regard it is much easier to use than my Tatara Masamune which has a very small sweet spot. I have found the Merica to be a very smooth shaver that delivers everything I want in three passes and touch ups. If one is looking for a lot of blade feel or very aggressive razor, I would pass this razor by.

    As promised, I am comfortably back on my Bay....Rum....that is.
    Took a few minutes last evening to give the Rubberset a Never-Dull
    treatment.
    The stuff's great, but you have to be careful not to get it on the bristles.
    Stinks too.
    As you can see in the picture below, we are approaching critical mass with the B&M soap.

    My plans are to complete this tub; then, I will have one more Bay Rum shave,
    using my recently acquired Barrister and Mann Bay Rum in their newest Excelsior base;

    make a comparison and then ad lib for the rest of the month.
    Today, the National razor was quite efficient removing yesterday's stubble.
    I would mention that there was noticeably less this morning, after having shaved
    with my 2011 R41. That razor really allows for a close shave.

    No blood, no muss, no fuss.
    Dr. Mrs. Primo came downstairs after her shower and took a sniffy-sniff of me and

    Thanks for the feedback. The industrial look is rather unique. It reminds me of textured ceilings. In your opinion, is this to camouflage less than perfect machining?

    No I don't think so. Yates Precision makes the razor. There is a huge thread on DFS about their Model 921 razor. The design of the Merica looks similar but also less complex which is likely easier to make. I don't think the finish hides poor workmanship. The post and machined threads are super shiny and screw together very smoothly. The finish is uniform and the razor comes together like a well crafted piece. I think the finish allows Jake to make a razor to very tight tolerances and then finish it in such a way provide a uniform finish while minimizing the time and effort of more traditional finishes. Tatara razors takes a similar approach of sandblasting the parts after machining.
