80's Toyotas run forever. The don't have any frills, so there's nothing to break. I purchased an '85 Corolla LE new and drove it 325K. I gave it to a friend, and he gave it to another friend. I wouldn't be surprised if it was still going. I just changed the oil every 3K (easy DIY without ramps) and got new tires every so often. I replaced the 5th gear and maybe an alternator, but that was about it. Only thing it didn't have was flames.

Oh man. I am relieved to hear that. I may keep going with the Trac II.

 

Careful there, Joe. I don't think @wchnu is looking down on anyone. I'm fairly sure he has endorsed Trac II shaving in December. He's tired from working too much, double-clutching the Toyota, and he's flat out of Geritol.

Despite @Primotenore's continued efforts, I've never been banned from any forum. I'm guessing Fuzzy has me on "auto-ban" if I ever try to join TOST. It's frustrating because I'm sure they have a cart and goo subforum where I could contribute.

@jluc I finally caved and picked up a pair of these boots. I couldn't turn down free shipping and the Black Friday discount. I had to recruit my sister to get a pair for her husband to hit the minimum purchase amount. The company is a bit of a market disruptor as they use quality materials and construction methods, but the manufacturing is done in China. I was hesitant at first, but the reviews on them are generally very good.

I'm not gonna cut mine in half like this guy, but this video shows their build quality. Mine will have chromexcel leather with rubber soles (hopefully good for winter). The shoes in the video are veg tan leather with leather soles.
