very cool,mom had an 87 they bought new,oil changes and an alternator .lasted for years before rotting away..still ran well when was towed away..

Thanks Jeff. I have several 100 packs of Voskhod blades. They're a favorite for sure! Yes! Voskhods are sharper than Derby blades. I specifically wanted to try popular blades that are considered less sharp. I have a few more to try but I'm guessing I'll be glad when the expirement is over.

I prefer boots, so I guess you could say I'm a boot guy. I admire them and wear them, but I don't collect them. I have four pairs that I rotate through currently: (Black) Dan Post Winston Lizard; (Chestnut) Justin Deerlite; (Brown) Ariat Heritage Roper; (Brown) Wolverine Spencer Waterproof.

I started my son out on Gillette Platinums. He has been shaving the back of my neck for years, so he knew about using no pressure. All he has is the mustache and chin fuzz, and he rarely shaves.
I did start my daughter out with Derby blades, but after about 2 months, she wanted to switch to the "plastic razors" that her friends use. Her '74 Lady Gillette razor now sits with my collection until she wants it back.

I am preparing for services tonight and although I look socially acceptable, I decided to shave instead of a possible rushed shave tomorrow morning. This Semogue brush is a lather hog so I did a pasty face lather and added water and some more soap to get a nice lather. I did 2 passes for a near BBS shave, but I had to squeeze the brush to release more lather on my second pass. The brush is soft and has a little backbone and it splays well, but the lather hogging is the downer. Didn't get any irritation or any cuts, nicks, creepers and weepers. The Stirling Christnas Eve scent is really awesome. The fragrance is strong, but not overpowering. It really smells like a real Christmas tree. I like it so much that I will be using it more often throughout the year. Applied the aftershave to top off this fine shave. Have a wonderful evening guys!

 

Interesting about your daughter. My 17 year old tried a DE but complained endlessly. We got her a Leaf and 100 Derby half blades. She really likes it.
